Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 11 2:16 pm)
I had something similar happen with Poser Pro quite recently. Had a scene that rendered in about 2.5 hours, moved one figure, added 1 figure with low resolution textures, and it took 36 hours to render afterwards. Went back to the orriginal as saved, and it was taking forever as well. No clue why poser does this, I chalk it up to the inefficiency of firefly.
The New HD Toaster from Wamco toasts bread more evenly and acurately than Standard Toasters. Take advantage of the FULL resolution of your bread and try one today, because if your toast isn't in High Definition, you are not getting the most of your toast!
I've also had something very similar happening. Though, in my case I found the explanation. I was using motion blur and as such had the character's arm move a little. And when I re-rendered it I forgot to make some long sleeves invisible as they were on the first version. THAT accounted for enough strain on my computer to make Poser give up completely.
Once I removed the sleeves, it rendered, but still a lot slower than the first time. I rebooted and everything between tries. No difference. I would chalk it up as a Poser Quirk™

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

Yesterday I set up a 3 character scene and rendered it in about 45 minutes. Today I open the same scence, adjust the position of one of the character's hands and 4 hours later it is not 10 percent rendered. I went in, reduced all the render settings significantly, and reduced the bumps, and rendered again, another 4 hours and only 10 percent done. Poser 8, Windows 7 and 6 gigs ram. ANybody got any ideas?
