*** To My Liberal Friends:***

Please accept with no obligation, implied or explicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2011 but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society are also great. Not to imply that any one society is necessarily greater than any other society. Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.

To My Conservative Friends:
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

lol, I like the way you put that, hopefully this gives no more room to any offense to anyone, lol.  And (since you have this in your signature) Merry Christmas  & Happy New Years to you :)

And Seasons Greetings (without any offense to anyone and all that jazz), to the rest of you :)

So far mine's turning out with a bad taste, have submitted a product here last week and was hoping to make some money by the end of the month to pay the late internet bill as promised, before it gets shut off, but haven't heard from Rendo at all.  Am getting very worried.   So, I'll take some luck out of your wish and hope it all falls through. :)

Wow. What he/she said! Hard to top: I'd just like to wish it with as much personal warmth and love as I can give on a forum on the internet where temperature and a pulse (and a smile) are vague concepts, indeed.

Why so politically correct?  Merry Christmas & a happy, healthy New Year.

Ditto!

I respect everyone's right to celebrate their special holidays in accordance to their religions/traditions.  My religion/traditions celebrate Christmas. I'm not going to even try to be "politically correct" when it comes to days that are important to me.  And anyone who said anything negative to me about it, would quickly find my boot up their bum!!

For Americans:

Is it appropriate for an atheist to celebrate Christmas: "Yes, of course. A national holiday, in this country, cannot have an exclusively religious meaning. The secular meaning of the Christmas holiday is wider than the tenets of any particular religion: it is good will toward men--a frame of mind which is not the exclusive property...of the Christian religion."

Merry Sol Invicuts to everybody.

During the late roman empire, emperor Aureliano invented a solar deity (Sol Invictus) whose "special day" was Dec 25th. In the subsequent centuries, this cult was bit by bit hijacked by christians until it was rebranded as the assumed birthday of Jesus.
