More snow here than I care to think about. No where near as bad as the storm that hit London, ON a couple weeks ago though!
We're getting pretty balmy weather here actually. Supposed to be 2 degrees Celsius tomorrow. Usually it's about - 30 Celsius at this time of the year.

able to know ourselves fully as we

heart whatever they might have to
say." - Ghandi
We had 3 feet of the stuff a couple of weeks ago. None at the moment but it's been sub zero for a few weeks.
Take care, Wolf. If you run out of tea, I can always send you some Yorkshire Tea. Great stuff.
Mind you, if you can't get out to the stores, I guess the post will have ground to a halt. Oh well, it was a nice thought, I guess.
Coppula eam se non posit acceptera jocularum.
It is usually windy here in the Hills of North Central Massachusetts, but today it is from due North, which is unusual. As a result, we have virtually no snow in the front yard, but a few inches in the back.
However, because of the wind (18 mph with gusts to 25) and fine snow, I discovered drifts over a foot deep in my attic! I had left the gable vents open, as I usually do, but because of the North wind it was pulling air out the gables and snow was coming in the ridge vent. I closed the gable vents and shoveled a bunch out in trash bags-it's gong to be fun getting it out from under the TV antenna, tho', as there is no floor in that area, but that can wait until morning.
We are supposed top get another 6-12" overnight...

"Oh - the manual says that? I have never read the manual - this must be why."Sheesh, I feel really bad for all of you! We just got back from just south of Noosa on the Sunshine Coast in Qld, Oz... where we enjoyed torrential rains (seriously tropical monsoon weather!) which, as I see the white stuff piling up on your porches and driveways, I'm elated about: don't have to shovel this. Oh, the girls whinged a bit about not being able to go for walks on the beach, but they enjoyed watching the cricket with their grandmother as I tidied up a HUGE Poser freebies collection on my terrabyte drive and watched the storms blow through.
Nice cool summer, for a change.

It's pouring with rain here in Queensland australia too, and I think it is the coldest summer I ever remember here.
I aim to update it about once a month. Oh, and it's free!

"Cold" being 22-23 degrees celcius. I'm in your neck of the wood, Esther - just got back to Brissie from Sunshine Beach, where it was absolutely bucketing down, wind and all!
But I'll take the rain anyday over the cold and snow... definitely! Been there, dealt with that, good to be no longer dealing with it!

LOL Esther... weird weather everywhere, even here. All the more opportunity to settle down and have a play with Poser.
Mind you, I do wonder if it's due to the dampness that when I plugged systems in this arvie and turned on the powerpoint switch, there was this big bang inside my PC... only new, that motherboard and everything. I reckon it's all toast, now. Hope the hard drives survived. So, I'm back to square one with the PC that does my rendering.
In the market for a new PC, I suppose.

Sorry to hear that Robyn,
My new shiny mac has been fairly problem free.
I would be devastated if that happened to me. well at least your drives are okay I hope.
Love esther

Here in Finland we get a plenty supply of the stuff every year for six months or so. Currently my back yard has a snow cover of a feet or so and the temperature is around -10 Celsius. Not much of a problem since I voluntarily go to hole-in-the-ice swimming trips to a local lake and even fetch my newspaper barefooted in the mornings from the mail box. I much prefer snowing to raining.
eeeeek!
It does look beautiful, but I do not like your hobby much.

I guess it's all what you gedt used to or learn to like. I love the rain - the more the better, altho my family don't seem to share that view - so I guess I'm in the right place here in Oz.

@elfwine Lol! Indeed I'm not the tallest member of the human race hovering at around 5'6".
A little stroll outside (wrapped in a morning gown - I'd go naked if it weren't for the neighbors) directly from the bed is a nice waking up ritual that instantly kills any remnants of sleepiness. But my wife on the other hand ... is just nuts. She takes the bicycle to work every freaking morning - no matter what the conditions or temperature. Granted it's just a 5 mile ride, but on this one I'd rather choose the car myself!
You folks are intrepid up there in Iceland. Wow! Suddenly our little monsoon that we drove through seems like a spring shower...

Did Iceland annex Finland and I missed it?

Did 12Rounds say Finland? He did! How embarrassing! :blushing: Sorry about that, 12Rounds... I meant to say Finland...

Quote - ...how bout' that global warming?
The temperatures on earth are getting hotter. The past year was the warmest year on earth since temperatures are noted. This winter and the winter last year are well known effects of the global warming. Expect in the next years even more hotter summers and more snowy winters. More hurricanes, more blizzards. And laugh about the global warming. It will be our grandchildren's children who have to live with the consequences of today's ignorance.
I agree with Laurie. People feel too strongly for or against the concept, and discussions along those lines usually have the end result of getting the thread locked. 'Tis neither the time nor place for it, sorry...

"since temperatures are noted" is such a short timeframe in relation to the earth's age that there is no statistical relevance to such an observation.
On the other hand, this is the second year of hard freezes in central Florida.
The beauty of global warming is that it is proven by anything - heat, cold, wind - whatever happens ... it's proof of global warming!
Who needs science when we have such an abundance of superstition!
If you don't like global warming - you'll really hate the next ice age (which will be blamed on global warming - you heard it here first).

When I look back at all the doom-scenarios I've seen last years; global warming, Ice-ages, comets, supervolcanoes, 2012, and so more, I realise we're living in a fragile world, and we're just have to be glad of the world we are living in today instead of worrying about the future. What I meant is, make the best of it now, be nice to your neighbour, to your wife or husband, your children and friends, enyoy life! When it's all comes to an end, at least you can say, you had a good life. Count your blessings!
best regards and enjoy,
Bopper.

Folks living in the Northeast, brace yourself.
Another big winter storm just went through my neck of the woods (Montana) and is moving slowly off to the southeast. Expect extreme bitter cold to follow. So be careful out there!!
mackis3D even the experts disagree. And if they cannot agree, how can we arrive at a correct solution? Let's leave it at that, please? In the meantime, here's a nice hot cup of chocolate! ^_^ [~]D
