Subject: Anybody interested in a Terrain Props with morphs?

I'm working on a Terrain prop for poser that will have over 50 morphs. I cant deside how to UV map it though. I could use some input. Do you think it would be best just to map it from the top- texture would have to be huge if you wanted alot of detail. Or i could tile it - but you wouldnt have total control over it then. I'll post images soon.

looking very nice .About texturing and tiling one has to see the difference to decide

Terrain props are always useful. Some are hard for the digitally challenged, such as: *Roads: including those on a side of a hill/cliff, a cut through a hill and one on a fill, hairpins curves, etc. Railroad embankments in a similiar fashion. *Water: wakes and waves; whirls, and white water, etc These could also be distributed as relief maps for use in Vue or Bryce.

Wow! I love the props though I don't have any advice whatsoever to offer you regarding your querry. However, I am looking forward to seeing these in their finished form and I'm hoping that you're gonna offer them in the store.

I'm doing some terrain work and although the maps are huge, an overall planar texture is the only way I've found to get a reasonable result in Poser. Definitely a "want" for Poser5. Chris

You could try a happy medium. Map the terrain both ways (Planar and Tiled), and then release it as a planar prop with the UV information from UVmapper included in the package for the tiled version. If someone wants the tiled version, all they need to do is apply the UV information to the OBJ files. It may seem like extra work, but a tiled version might be a godsend to those folks whose systems are memory or processor challenged.

Maybe I'll make 2 differnt mapped versions. I'm already makeing a low-ress version and a high-ress one. Depending on how much detail you need or if you want to have more than one in a scene. Thanks for all the input.
