Subject: FFRender failed to launch...

riquid ( ) posted Wed, 05 January 2011 at 1:13 PM · edited Tue, 19 November 2024 at 8:23 PM

Hello everyone~

I just completed a cool new animation and sent it to the queue manager for rendering but my queue manager seems not to be working.  It sits there doing nothing and just says:

Launching FFRender for parsing...
...FFRender failed to launch

It continues to repeat this over and over again...  I've tried reinstalling queue manager several times and it has not helped...
I'm running windows 7(64-bit) with poser pro 2010 and have the SR1 update installed.

edit I should also note that I can render just fine within the Poser Pro 2010 program itself.  The problems only occur with the queue manager.

Has anyone else run into this problem?  Anyone have any ideas about what I can do?

Thanks so much in advance~

I'm having the exact same problem. PP2010, SR1.

So far, not once I got it to work. Even tho, that every now and then, at one point, it comes over me and I try to make it work for hours. LOL ...

I still think it has somethink to do with the network/router/firewall settings. That just something blocks the access. Even tho I only want process it locally (for now)

Tried to forward/open so many different ports and what not already (router and software firewall), but it  never was succesful.

I might be as well trying on the wrong end of things perhpas ... heh

My que works flawlessly on win7 64, I have UAC turned off and have ffrender in the firewall

I tried turning off UAC and adding FFrender to my firewall with no results.  I'll keep testing other things and post when I know more.

In the mean time, anyone else have any ideas?

Sounds specific enough that you probably should contact SM support, this is one of those features I think they put a higher priority on resolving problems for:
