Hi,

I want to create a texture for a 3d airraft and have a UV map for my 3d model.I want to create a similar effect as shown in the attached picture(right side) which I created to explain what I want to do.The horizontal and vertical lines are the intersection of metal panels and I want to give an old look to the texture so I want to have oil/rust bleeding out of the panel lines .For this image I used the brush to paint on the vertivcal line as shown in pic (left side) and than gave it a guassian blur but still its not having the right look.I also tried wind once from left and than from right but didnt work either.I hope you guys will be able to help me or guide me to the right tutorial. Thanks for your time!

Try using the “Smudge Tool” on the left image.

With that, you can use different brush shapes to achieve smeary, drippy, runny looks.

Play around with the “Scattering” setting for a splattered look.
