Subject: Cararra8Pro 64bit on win 7 64bit low microprocesser utilization

cararra 8 pro 64 when using the internal render it only runs my cpu cores at 40%, then down to 8% as there are only 1 or 2 memory blocks left. PoserPro, Vue9, maya etc will all run at 100% utilization. Do I need to render to a different mode to make full cpu utilization or change some setting in Cararra?

Found the answer for me at least, with lots of rams and cpu cores. I changed to bucket size to 32 down from 128 on render and my cpu utilization when from 44% to 95%.

Makes sense as each block I think represents each core..

That seems funny though, since mine still keeps chugging along.

Dunno if it's XP or the fact I'm using an older version of Carrara, but on my system when it gets down to the last square left all the cores switch to working on it. When running task manager, you can see the processes drop for the cores that were on other squares, then they go back to 100% to help whatever core was left with the last bit. Or it could be that AMD Phenom still does things different than Intel i7 or whatever.

The newer OS from what I understand also has some settings for power management, whether or not that affects how threads are handled might be worth investigating.
