Long, long ago, there was a tutorial on how to pose figures realistically. I seem to remember it was by Schlabber, but I'm not sure. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I really did look for these. Thank you.

It seems to me there was more about how to get hips to behave realistically, though... hmmm... If I could remember just half of what I read, it would sure help.

Dang, he has a ton of stuff to look at!!!

;) I take a look anyway.

I'm just trying to get static poses to look less like department store manequins right now. Animation scares the piddle out of me. Although... animating the figure might be the easier route.

Now I feel kinda bad. I'm not trying to do anything noble here, just better hoochie-mama poses.

I so stink at poses. Watched the Flaunt girls a bazillion times, took a run at it, and gagged at the result. They look saucy, my attempt looked raunchy. Big difference. grrr...

The one thing to avoid is symettry. People dont normally stand perfectly. More weight on one leg, hip slightly tipped and that sort of thing. Its very easy to overdo it.

Hey look at some art drawing books, try a drawing or 2 , its fun . Look at the figure and the natural pose.

This is Tanya she has a great movement and enjoys posing. 

The painting is acrylic on board.

Give me a pencil, and I can draw it. Put a V4 in front of me, and she mocks me. "Go ahead... turn on Inverse Kinematics... go on... "  There's not even any humor in V4. At least Posette used to explode and make you laugh...

Hi - sorry, had some family business (we got our 2nd child on January 6th).

I think you refer to "Posing is an art" ?

sorry - so far this is only available in German language. Posing is an art is also available in English

 

However - I will rebuild my page soon when I'll have my "family holidays" for a few months. Then I will update some new stuff together with the old poses and tutorials.

Please send me a mail to schlabber@schlabber.org then I will send you over a copy of "Posing is an art" as it seems no longer available if you can't wait until then (it may take 2-3 months to rebuilt my webpage).
