Sad news.
My very first band opened with “Jailbreak” by Thin Lizzy when I was 15 and playing parties and skating rinks …We weren’t even old enough to play bars yet…lol
I always loved his crunchy guitar sound.
Sad news indeed.
Thanks for the links.

STOP PALESTINIAN CHILD ABUSE!!!! ISLAMIC HATRED OF JEWS
Over the Hills and Far Away Hark! Now the drums beat up again,
For all true soldier gentlemen,
Then let us 'list and march I say,
Over the hills and far away.
Chorus
Over the hills and o'er the main.
To Flanders, Portugal, and Spain,
Queen Anne commands and we'll obey.
Over the hills and far away.
All gentlemen that have a mind,
To serve the Queen that's good and kind,
Come 'list and enter into pay,
Then over the hills and far away.
Chorus
Here's forty shillings on the drum,
For those that volunteers do come,
With shirts, and clothes, and present pay,
Then o'er the hills and far away.
Chorus
No more from sound of drums retreat,
While Marlborough and Galway beat,
The French and Spaniards every day,
When o'er the hills and far away.
Chorus
The 'prentice Tom he may refuse,
To wipe his angry master's shoes,
For then he's free to sing and play,
Over the hills and far away.
Chorus
Come on then boys, and you shall see,
We every one shall captains be!
To whore and rant as well as they,
When over the hills and far away.
Chorus
We then shall lead more happy lives,
By getting rid of brats and wives,
That scold on both the night and day,
When over the hills and far away.
Chorus

This caught my eye because I thought that you were a little too young and too Canadian to be mourning a 1950s American game show host. Sorry to hear about this Gary Moore. Other than maybe Mick Jagger, I've never really known the names of band members. I do remember Thin Lizzy though. The Boys Are Back in Town is the one I remember them for.
Wait until you get a little older and all the celebs, pols, musicians etc. from your youth start dropping off on a seemingly weekly basis )-:

different songs, same title.

No. As already noted above, same title, but a different song. Here are the lyrics to Gary Moore's version. Quite a tragic song. A man was wrongly accused of robbery and sent to prison. He could have proven he hadn't done it, because he had been with his friend's wife. But to say so would have caused her great harm, so he kept her name out of it.

heart whatever they might have to
say." - Ghandi
Never heard it but an interesting theme, given the old Johnny Cash number The Long Black Veil:
*"The judge said son, what is your alibi
If you were somewhere else, then you won't have to die
I spoke not a word, though it meant my life
I'd been in the arms of my best friends wife" *

Yes, a very sad loss to music. A great player but with a lot more versatility and technique than his recent blues repertoire shows. Monster tone, too.
RIP Gary.

Gary Moore died of a heart attack. A great guitarist and vocalist.
I loved Thin Lizzy and Skid Row.
One of my favourite songs is "Over the Hills and Far Away"
Gary Moore's version
Nightwish's version
It is a great song!
