after opening library window nothing shows up then after ~10sec one message with blue(?) background pops up (as in the picture).

I'm more than sure that such questions were already mentioned on this forum but I thought it'd be faster just to ask what to do.

some more info:

when I hit "ok" button message dissaperas and library window stays empty

I don't see this message everytime - but when it is not displayed then some of the gui icons (like small round: pose, props) are broken - small picture with broken icon appears.

othertimes normal icons (I'm talking here about icons responsible for the content) are not displayed at all.

lately I coudn't even save pose because poser '+' did not respond.

And one more (which I think could be related) I have instaled ESET Smart Security - if this program "destroys" poser library then could somebody tell me how to configure it to work with poser without any problems (I'm new to such programs like firewalls and/or antiviruses)

Try disabling ESET temporarily and then launch Poser. If that cures the problem, consider abandoning ESET. If you've paid for it you won't want to do that, so start looking at how ESET's firewall is configured.

Some firewalls need to be educated about apps talking to each other inside your computer, and how that is very different from talking to the Internet.

However, what yours is doing is intermittent, which means something very different. It looks to me like ESET firewall just doesn't work. Why would some communication be allowed but not others?

The only time you got total failure was when the very first message got blocked. Since sometimes it wasn't blocked, the initialization proceeded, but if that is blocked then you get that error about appConfig.

Sometimes blocked but other times not? Leaving aside that we don't want it to block at all here, how do you know that when you want it to block (hackers from the net), it will every time?

I'd contact them.

Tell them:

Poser has various separate processes that communicate with each other over various ports via the loopback address 127.0.0.1.

The server part for the library is listening on TCP port 11530 (for transient commands from client to server) and 11630 (a persistent channel for real-time updates from server to client).

If 11530 is not available, you may not get the visual assets (buttons), or be able to scan a runtime or folder, or issue commands like loading a pose.

If 11630 is not available, you will not get the activation of buttons, such as the + (save) button, that are only allowed after Poser tells the GUI that you have made an appropriate selection for that purpose.

The Queue manager in Poser Pro also uses network ports that a firewall can interfere with. I don't know the details of that.

Note: These are the default ports and Poser may choose alternate ports under certain conditions.

Also, I am giving you 11630 from memory, but it may be a faulty memory. When I have time, I'll check that detail and if it's incorrect I'll tell you the correct port.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

@cspear

I paid already for 1 year license.

I switched off ESET, restarted computer and haven't seen this error massage since then. Swiched on ESET and still no error message (but broken icons randomly are showing)

@BB

I had to read your post several times to understand it - but now I understand.

Anyway I pointed them (ESET guys) to this thread to keep them updated.
