THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: What's the current version of Bryce/Daz?

Hi All,

I've been out of it for the past year. I got a job promotion that took up all of my time. Sorry to say non-creative. Now that I'm more confortable in that roll, I'm looking to start creating again.

I've upgraded my computer. I was using an older Mac. Now I'm on a maxed out Macbook Pro. I can't complain that I'm have computer issues anymore.

So here's the thing. I bought the then lasted version of Bryce 7pro and DAZ Studio about six month ago and found they were not working all that great together. I use both these days. Plus with my work schedule I didn't have the time to seek out help. As I've been on this working holiday I'm hoping you all can tell me what's the latest updates and were to find them. I thing that the best starting point. I've been looking through the theads. I had hoped you could help me cut to the chase.

Thanks in advance.

Vincent

Any updates ought to be listed in your available downloads at DAZ for starters...then once you've established you're up to date....play away...lots to doscover. I find exploring all the old familiar menus will often yield an Easter Egg.. ...

Once in a while I look around,
I see a sound
and try to write it down
Sometimes they come out very soft
Tinkling light sound
The Sun comes up again

If you reset your downloads for DS and Bryce at Daz (in your account) it will give you the latest version upgrade...otherwise check the appropriate forums at Daz for the new betas, etc.  ( Daz Studio and Bryce forum )  They are testing Studio 4 now.

Current Bryce release: 7.1.0.74

as mentioned, found on your account page at DAZ.

And the only Mac version of D|S that works well via the bridge to Bryce is:

3.2.1.30.

Which is found here:

DAZ Studio 3.1.2.30

The new 64 bit D|S 4 Mac works really well but using the D|S to Bryce bridge crashes Bryce.

MacPro/OS 10.6.6

Question for Dan

The link Quest provided in my inquiry about Ivy Generator led to a thread posted some time ago at Daz forum.  You alluded to a method of importing base object and the ivy object in D/S to properly align the meshes.

Now that D/S bridge has been broken for quite a while, can you recall which version of D/S and Bryce it actually worked in? As stated above, things crash now.

Gosh, I  don't remember much but it probably would have been Bryce6 and a version of D|S2.

You should still be able to load the two meshes in any D|S version and then export to .OBJ for Bryce. That's how I've been doing it with all the bridge versions that crashed or didn't bring the textures over.

Thanks again all. I have update all software. Now all I have to do is get my content reinstall. Daz makes nothing easy do they?
