Well I was surfing around the web, just looking around at diffrent fantasy artists gallery. One mention in the image description Poser...so I looked it up, downloaded a trial and was hooked - it was Poser 5.

You folks are getting me all verklempt. :-)

Remember the New York Times article above? It came out six weeks before 9/11 - tough times for us all. Coincidentally, this morning I spoke with NYT about Poser Debut. Full circle.

A quick note - Phil Clevenger (now heading up UI on Lightroom at Adobe) did the Poser 3 and 4 UI; it's often incorrectly attributed to Kai Krause.

there was never a question of ever trying to be artistic for me.  My intrest in Poser developed purely from a desire to make 3D porn.  The search for the ways and means of accomplishing this exalted goal led me to Poser.  If there is any artistic content in my renders, it is purely accidental, as my primary purpose is to Titillate!

Literally!

Already have it, but frankly I never go there anymore!  Most of the posters there seem to hate women, rather than cherish and adore them.  Too many of their renders don't seem to be about sex so much, as to be about snuff and dismemberment.  Needless to say, such renders are far from my taste!

Interestingly, David, if you scratch porn's skin enough, you'll find that it bleeds hatred of women. Sadly. Not all cherish and adore women as you do.

I enjoy watching people have sex, i won't denigh it.  Most of it is a bit repetitious and boring, but occassionally I come across something special when the protagonist actually seem to like each other.

The sex scene between Robert di Nero and Ulma Thurman in the movie 'Mad Dog and Glory' was especially thrilling because of the love element mixed with what appeared to be genuine passion.

I am an illustrator and I was tired of jumping up and down in the mirror to see how something looked when drawing it. There was an ad in MacMall at the time for Poser (no numbers) and I thought it might be handy since it was meant to be an artist tool at the time. Little did I know ...
