Subject: PP2010 changegamma.py and mac

The changegamma.py didn't come with my PP2010 for mac. If you're a mac PP2010 user, did you get this script with your PP2010 purchase?

InTel Mac pp2010, how it got there I can't remember. Look in the material room far right under user defined. That is where mine is located.

In my installation (Intel) it is also under the menu item Scripts->MaterialMods.

When I go to scripts menu, there's no MaterialMods to select there. However, in the python script window I found Material Mods button, and when I click it, I see a button for "Change Texture Gamma." I figure that's it, but when I click that button I get...

...empty script dialog box. Unless I'm not understanding something, I don't seem to have the script.

I looked for materialmods in the finder and found a materialmods folder. Inside are:

materialModButton.py

set_mats.py

writeMats.py

Is one of these supposed to be the changegamma python script?

no it isn't there. I think go into the materials room and it is one of those press buttons on the right.  But it never worked well on my mac for me and I got a better free one that really does the job well.

I mean this menu.

@MarianneR: thanks, but I don't have MaterialMods appearing there in my Scripts menu. Wow, you have a lot more scripts than came with my PP2010. I'm guessing you've added a number of 3rd party scripts.

Do you know what the script is named as a file in the finder? Is it changegamma.py or something else?

@estherau: is that free script still available and can I get it somewhere?

Attached Link: daz forum, mentions changegamma didn't work right on mac in poser pro

Mentioned the materialModbutton.py script in earlier post. I looked at that script in text editor: it's short and just defines some script buttons. It actually sets up one of the buttons [Change Texture Gamma] for running changeGamma.py. I don't have changeGamma.py (did a search in finder) which is why I get the Null or empty script alert when I click that button.

Did everyone get changeGamma.py with their install of PP2010 mac?

In the link above, to daz forum, 2nd to last post, marianner says changeGamma didn't work right in Poser Pro on a mac. So I'm wondering if changeGamma wasn't included with PP2010 mac for this reason. Yet apparently some of you have it. So I don't know why I don't.

I'm pretty sure it was included in Poser Pro 2010. In the original Poser Pro it didn't work at first, but they fixed it later.

Maybe you could try to reinstall and see if it appears then?

Or, there is a version posted at RuntimeDNA. It is for the original Poser Pro but it is almost identical to the one I have in PP2010.

Oh sorry, I just did a finder search and that was the path to it. Did not try it, I don't know what I would use it for.  That's why I started reading this thread.

I did upgrade to PP2010 SR1 back in Nov, so it looks like it has not been fixed, unless there is already another update out?

I think I would report it to SM and see what they say.

OK, thanks, I just started an incident ticket with SM.
