What is up with the black spots/lines on this render?

I tried different light sets.. same deal.

bad AO/displ. bounds?  also need to check each lite set.

the lights were set up for AO...these are the stock Poser 8 lights

Forgive the shouting, but I've only answered this like 18 gabillion times.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

it may mean the default lite sets were depth-map (shadow-mapped).  badd IMVHO.
