Hey,

Does anyone remember how to disable the stick figure Andy when you start up Poser 8.  I would like to be done with him!!!!   Help please!

You mean you want to know how do you change the preferred scene settings so that Poser starts the way you want after you have made it the way you want? In other words, you want it to remember your preference as to what the preferred default scene is? You want to change your preferences and make them persistent? Yes?

Did I give enough hints or no? grin 

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

Open Poser. Delete the Andy figure. Go to General Preferences. Make sure Launch to preferred state is highlighted and push the button under it that says Set preferred state.

Poser will now open with an empty window and no Andy ;).

Heya...

I thought I was pretty slick and figured that out with this Poser 8...or as I am now calling it...Poser H8....however...I went and opened it again today...for more library struggles and fighting...and there was the da*(*#d Andy again...

So...it is clear...this program wants my head to explode...sigh

I have Poser set to open with no figures in the scene.

Thanks doll...but that is precisely what I did...twice and the evil creature returned...P-H8 can't seem to find Victoria when I have spelled out where she is several times..but it can find Andy no matter how hard I try to hide the ....>expletives omitted<

Now I have to jump through a heap of hoops to try and figure out how to use all my previous content with Poser 8 or just say to heck with it and delete it and get my money back.

 

ok...had to edit to update...apparently the 3rd time's the charm....opened Poser to beat my head against the wall a bit more and Andy is GONE!!!  I did not do anything differently than I did the previous 2 times either...<<

1st thing I did was set it to no Andy. Yous hould be able to reinstall your content.

That's what I'm afraid of...I have A LOT of stuff...

I did try to reinstall V.4base (M4, A4, K4 etc)  but I get this error message...

"There has been an error.

      Error reading INI file C:Program FilesCommon FilesDAZdzInstall.ini

This Application will end now"

 

Does that look familiar to anyone? and were you able to get any of the DAZ bases going?
