Yes, I join your words, it is a terrible catastrophe. Hope everyrhing goes right for everyone.
Indeed. It's very humbling to see the power of Nature unleashed...

"Oh - the manual says that? I have never read the manual - this must be why."Hey guys... Me and my fam is ok, luckily it was a very small tsunami... only 7ft tall.... :)
I'm just sad cuz we had it easy when everyone else had it sad... I was shocked to hear that while we were waiting for our wave, California got a bad one...
I hope everyone else is safe and I give my wishes to the victims and family's of victims.
I just heard there was an explosion at one of the nuclear plants earlier and that the earthquake moved japan 8 feet.
WARK!

I am aghast seeing in the news assholes going to the beach to watch the tsunami wave in many places in the US. Probably these perspective Darwing Awards contestants think they can outrun a tsunami. No dears, you can't; as the videos showed, even on a car you can have a hard time fleeing.
Tsunami warning means that from one hour before the alert time until all clear you go at least a couple of km inland, possibly on some kind of hill, away like hell from canals (in Lisbon 1755 tsunami, the harbour acted as a kind of concentrator for the wave) and wait. Nature isn't a mother, its the most dangerous bitch you can meet.
Anyway, w.r.t. of buildings, strict japanese rules seem to have worked wonders: compare to Haiti being razed, even without tall buildings. From the news I have, almost all victims are on coastal areas due to the tsunami.
And, needless to add, nuclear reactors, even build to high standards, do not go without problems. Time for solar energy...

Yeah, alexcoppo... I totally agree! On the news (in Seaside, OR) there was a guy caught on camera standing IN the water with a beer can in one hand and a camera in the other!!! What does he want to be known as "the guy that was drunk and died taking an underwater tsunami photo?!" Some people are very ignorant of warnings that obviously would not be issued if it was not an issue! lol...
Anyway, I feel terrible for all the victims of course, I just wish that I could've done something to help them. But what's done is done, and all I can do now is wish/pray that the surviving victims and the deceased victim's familys recover soon and have luckier lives. BLESS THE WORLD! =D

I'm sorry to all of you in Japan, and I hope that things get better for you!!
I am getting ready to evacuate my little town because a tsunami is headed our way but I'm crossing my fingers that it passes through without too much damage.
To anyone that was in Japan, is from Japan, or Hawaii, or even any other places on the coast: GOOD LUCK! I LOVE YOU ALL!! :)
