Subject: Poser 8 content from Pixelwarrior

Hi everybody.

I am extremely proud to share with you this exciting news. A robot mecha I designed will be included as part of the of Poser 8 content.

Noteworthy features:

  • Scale dial, from big (about 3x human size) to huge (sort of Japanese-mecha size).
  • switchable geometry arm-mounted cannon. That is, you control with a dial whether it appears or not
  • Gills (vents) in the face open and close with a single dial
  • Vents in the chest also open and close
  • IK-friendly
  • IMHO, looks cool in sci-fi scenes
  • Comes with a set of wing-thingy which twist /turn /rotate in unison, which scale along with the main robot mecha figure (courtesy of the Poser 8 dependent parameter creation tool)
  • It is NOT a render hog. As much as I wanted to make a node maze, I opted for a simpler and faster-rendering material solution
  • Of course, everything is uv-mapped.

So anyway, behold the robot mecha!

BTW, only one distant light used in the render.

hi Pixel Warrior!

If you have this issue of Realms of Fantasy magazine, you'll see your Valkyria bottoms on page 73.  My little ad with TY2.

Yes, 3d Artist is great

Here is another render, with G2 Simon perched on it's shoulder, with a zoom in to make it clearer. This beasty is huge.
You can also see the arm-mounted cannon in this shot

manoloz ( ) posted Thu, 30 July 2009 at 5:52 PM

Sure. I made a scifi stuff because there was too much non-scifi stuff in the content, lol!

How does it get renewed?

The mag isn't publishing from there(or at all) currently. Maybe that's why the site hasn't been renewed.

How: the former owner or a higher-price-payer has to purchase the domain name from whomever own it.

patorak3d ( ) posted Fri, 11 March 2011 at 7:22 PM

How much would it cost to buy the domain name?

Dunno. You'd have to contact the hoster or the registrant.

But its a horrible site name. It's too long, and too confusing by having "of-fantasy" with its "off" in the title. Try for something simpler - who knows how long this site has been dead; the fans have all moved on by now. You probably won't see them return once you open up shop.

Could it be renamed once it is purchased?

?

No. heheh

You would want to just register your own site under your own choice of name in that case.

Either way you can always call godaddy on the phone and talk to them. I used to call and talk to them forever sometimes. They're pretty cool. The site is a terrible place to register though - there's tons of free sites that offer more for less and keep everthing simple. Search and see.

Sorry for the Off Topic banter, guys! We're done:D

Speakin' of which...Where's Manoloz?

SteveJax ( ) posted Fri, 11 March 2011 at 10:39 PM

You guys do realize that this thread is over a year old. This is the interwebz. Websites and users vanish with no notice all the time. If Manoloz is still around the quickest way to find out is via sitemail.
