Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 07 3:27 pm)
On page 251 in the Poser manual is a section on using templates, which is the wire frame you are talking about. The regular Poser character template are on the content CD. You will not find a template on the content CD for just the head, those are used for Vickie, Michael, or one of the other modified maps. You can use a program like UV Mapper to create the template that you need. If it is for Vickie or Michael or the girls, you can download the template from Daz on the same page the model is sold on. Always save the map you are working with under a different name so that when you modify it you don't change the original map. Marque

If you want the template to work with you could also use the colored seam guides that SnowSultan posted in the freestuff section right here at Renderosity. They are wonderful for telling where the lips and such end which comes in handy when you're first starting out. Vicky has a head and a body guide, Mike has a head guide and Dork and Posette have a body and head together. Just follow the above link to SnowSultan's freestuff contribution page. Good luck and have fun. Regards, Mithrandir2KMy landlady just helped me put up 12 shelves in my computer room/office. She wondered why I was keeping all the software in the original boxes, when possible, since they take up so much space. Well, if I have the box, the odds that the manual and the CD are together are much, much higher. Otherwise they'd be buried and lost. :( This is especially bad with reinstalling something upgraded, since the original ancient CDs or floppies are often necessary, too. The other solution is "ziplock" baggies. You can read the contents, and they keep out dust/cat fur/... They just don't stand up visibly on a shelf, but they do take less space AND keep contents together. Carolly
I actually keep the manuals together with the serial number written on the inside front cover. The CD's go into a holder that I picked up for about $7 at CompUSA that will hold about 50 CD's. Have 6 of those but they stack so they are out of the way. I ususally burn the CD for the program if I can, and put the original away immediately. Some like Mimic and Hash I have to keep out but I keep a box on the desk for those. Too much of a pain to replace software these days. If you can't find the Content CD I imagine Curious Labs will help you out with the templates for the original characters. Marque

Ok, I have read the tutorial on CakeOne's site and it seems possible for me to do (I am just now learning how the program works.) I have just a couple questions: First- where do I get the wire frame for the head?? I have looked through all of my Poser program files and can't find a one! Are there any for download? And once I do get one....how do I incorporate it onto a full figure? I have had Poser since P3 came out and just couldn't quite get it. I understand more now than I ever could, thanks to everyone's posts!! Thanks to all.
