Subject: My RayTrace Shadows are too crisp

LBlogger ( ) posted Sun, 20 March 2011 at 1:09 PM · edited Tue, 20 August 2024 at 10:48 PM

My figure is casting a very strongcrisp shadow on the wall behind it. What should I do to get smoother shadows? I tried changing shadow blur radius and shadow min bias values up and down, eventhough I don't really understand what they are, and they didn't make any difference.

Help is much appreciated.

blur radius gives the shadow a softer edge.  For the light thats casting the shadow drop the amount of shadow to about half of what its set at now.

I tried to corrected the Title of my message but I got a message saying that I need to be a moderator to change it, I'm already using Depth Map shadows not Raytrace, sorry about that but it was a hasty mistake.
