Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 23 7:38 pm)
I have it on reasonably good authority that the cloth room has seen very few if any changes over the past few versions. So, I share your hope that it will be a focus of SM's next Poser sorties, both regular and Pro versions.

After having started working with Marvelous Designer, I now realize how much is really possible in terms of cloth simulation, and I'm wondering if Poser developers are taking these things into consideration, because right now transferring dynamic clothes from MD to Poser is just not a very positive experience.
In MD you can: Set different fabric properties for different parts of the same garment. Set render thickness. Set particle distance. And for some reason cloth self-collision actually works...
I don't know how much of this is actually possible with the obj format, and I certainly do not wish to see Smith Micro take the path of DAZ3D and grant exclusive rights to one vendor for all dynamic cloth. But on the other hand I'd like to see Marvelous Designer or similar as an option integrated with Poser.
I wonder if there's any chance of something like this ever happening? At least I hope for some improvements to the cloth room...
