Subject: Terrain Artifacts

Airmarshal ( ) posted Mon, 04 April 2011 at 12:07 PM · edited Thu, 26 December 2024 at 6:34 AM

Hi All,

I can really use a hand with this. I am doing a 16 second animation of a ship flying through canyons. The problem is is when I render the sequence I am getting terrain artifacts through out. I have included a picture with some of the artifacts circled. Why am I getting these and simply how do I prevent them?

I am rendering as a targa image sequence 1280x720 set at brodcast quality minus motion blur.

Your assistance with this is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Marshal

Not sure why my jpeg file isn't uploading though I have attached it.

might help to turn up "quality boost" if its a procedural

EDIT (to make a useful post):-  This is done under the "Proc." tab in the terrain editor

Hi Rich,

Thanks for the assist. All the terrain is standard and my quality boost is at 60%. Perhaps I'll bump that up and give it a go but even the superior settings doesn't go that high.

Best,

-Marshal
