Subject: Create Wash Leather shader

TheAnimaGemini ( ) posted Tue, 12 April 2011 at 4:12 AM · edited Sun, 24 November 2024 at 9:49 PM

Since three day's i try to create in the Poser Mat room a texture shader node which looks like 'Washed Leather'. Till now, i was really not very succes. Somehow my shaders looks all a bit like Hard Leather, or to glossy or something like this.:(

Somebody has some ideas , suggestions? :)

For better understanding, i work on a Elven Archer outfit , which use this very soft leather usually.

Thank you in advance. :)

CHeck out this thread. Bagginsbill made one that might work, or maybe could be adapted http://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showthread.php?thread_id=2806484&page=2

Thank you for the link. Looks great. But i am not sure if i can use this one.

This shader i need for a product and i am not sure if i can use these MM nodes in it.

( And at first i have to  study understand how they work )

Quoting myself from page 2 of the thread:

Quote - As I told Paul in PM, you all can feel free to use this in products. It is a free merchant resource. Make whatever money you can from it. Just don't sell it by itself as a shader - it has to be in a product with a mesh. And you have to say you got it from me in your readme.txt.

So you have the right to use it in a commercial product.

As for the notion of MM nodes, you misunderstand. There is no such thing. There is no way to add custom nodes to Poser. Matmatic is just a way to make standard Poser nodes more easily (for me at least). But the resulting materials are standard Poser materials. They are better than what other people make by hand, but they could have been made by hand.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

Thank you Bagginsbill for the clarification. I use a lot shader which i build after your tutorials and examples and of course i always credit you.

This Suede material is the best i seen so far and now i have to study them to understand better the nodes.

Looks exactly what i had in mind. :)

I am sure i will come back for a few questions about some nodes. But for now, many thanks. Very appreciated your help.
