I was absolutely moved by Johns (very talented) theft of his gear.

Check: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=2190887&section_id=8&genre_id=&page=6&np

2 x canon 50d inc grips and batteries
2 x canon 5d inc grips and batteries
2 x canon 350d inc grips and batteries
1 x infrared camera
2 x flashguns
2 x flash triggers

various filters, etc and modular bellows
2 x manfrotto tripod and ball head

9 Assorted Canon/Sigma lenses.

I´ve been thinking about solidarity between Rendo photographers & maybe we could help him out with a donation to buy some new gear so he can continue his trade.

It dosent have to be the world, but a few euros, pounds, dollers ect. would be a great gesture.

I have no idea how we could organise this (maybe the moderators, Mrs Lubner & Co)

If this would happen to me I would be devastated!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just an idea to make the world a better place.

Steve

p.s. this is not a scam, its for real.

This is terrible news my friend.

I must say i have jus 1 camera and 2 lenses and if it should be stolen i would be devestated. For John this must have been a big blow losing such expensive equipment. I wuld love to contribute but my budget is very thight my friend.

God Bless.

Regards.

Christo.

I am far from being a professional but all of my equipment including tripods are insured against loss or damage.  I should think a pro would have all of his cameras, lenses, etc insured and not  face the devastation of such a loss.

Ouch I have only one 5d II so losing two plus everything else would really hurt......I'm amazed he didn't have it all insured especially as they were his tools of the trade. Poor guy. And if they caught the 'shit' that stole it, the judge would probably say he had a bad childhood and let him off with a warning. Well that’s what happens in Australia anyway.

I don't have even half of that great stuff, but honestly one camera and heaps of imagination and he can easily keep working. I've been doing it for years! I wish him well, and maybe the police might recover some of his gear.
