Subject: Boxes in preview windows.....

FCLittle ( ) posted Thu, 05 May 2011 at 11:48 AM · edited Sun, 26 January 2025 at 1:01 AM

I'm using Vue 8, my computer is 64 bit, 12 gig of ram, with an i7 processor, and yet when I'm viewing the preview window I often have my models reverting (albeit for short amounts of time and often when I'm moving the view point) to boxes.  The thing is, I don't remember this happening that often withmy old computer, which was significantly less powerful than my new one.  Is there something I need to do in the options menu to keep the models visible and not reverting to shaded boxes?  Hope this makes sense and that someone has some advice.....

Thanks!

Frank

Must be the limit of displayed polygons that is too low, check your display preferences, and untick the limit box, or set it to something higher. It's a low number by default.

Do you mean the box that says "Limit OpenGL polygons"?....I have that unticked already, which I figured would do the trick....there's also "Max number of displayed instances" in reference to ecosystems.....for that I have it set to 1,000,000...

Yes, that's the one I meant... Could you post a screengrab of that panel?

Vue's preview quality is dependent on the video card also.  What model is your video card, and how much on-board memory does it have?

Poser 12, in feet.

OSes:  Win7Prox64, Win7Ultx64

Silo Pro 2.5.6 64bit, Vue Infinite 2014.7, Genetica 4.0 Studio, UV Mapper Pro, UV Layout Pro, PhotoImpact X3, GIF Animator 5

Or is it that you have "show bounding boxes around groups" on?
