Bear with me, here, I'm new to this.  After experiencing problems with Poser 7 I have decided to Sidegrade to Poser Pro 2010.  $249.00, but that's life.

I've never upgraded or sidegrade before.  What happens to my Runtime content?  Do I have to reinstall everything, or is there an easy way to deal with this?  I'll be going from 32-bit to 64-bit.  Will this cause problems with my old files, or will they even work in the upgraded program?

I have an i7 computer with 12G of memory, 12TB of Raid storage and a Nvidia FX4800 graphics card, so my computer shouldn't be a problem.

I'm a video editor, so my current knowledge of Poser is a bit limited.

Any advice on this would be welcomed, as I'm going into a big animation job in the near future,

You can simply install PP 2010 and it will create it's own folder. 

Depending on where your other content is located (i.e. the P7 Runtime or External Runtimes) just point PP 2010 to those and you're fine.

Be aware, though, that the Library system for PP 2010 is NOT embedded on a 64-bit system.  I had a little problem with this when I first upgraded to PP 2010 but now it's fine.

That is not a problem, it is a feature inherent with the 64-bit version. 

You don't need to fix it ... just get used to it.  I have my windows set up so that my library runs beside my main Poser window so everything is good.

I actually find the new library has a lot of features that work brilliantly well - and is actually a fair bit quicker than the older P7 approach. Also, it leaves you with more real-estate for your work. It took getting used to, but I really like it now.
