Subject: Shape Magic Available Again - Now Free

I use to sell Shape Magic at 3D Commune but stopped in 2009 when that site shut down. Since then, Shape Magic has not been available. My support site also shut down around the same time. I was recently considering abandoning Shape Magic entirely, but after looking at it again and at all the free downloads and other programs I had written, I decided to resurrect the site and make it all freeware. So as of today, the following 3D programs can be downloaded from shapemagic.com:

Shape Magic 2.1, Road Maker, Flag Maker, Shape Maker, Stump Maker. Also, a 2D program Funny Faces (2D) is available.

Several of these have been available before but others were never released. I recently went through and revised all the 3D programs to correct the face normals's which allows them to import more easily into several 3D rendering programs. I also made other changes to Shape Magic, so there's  a new version 2.1.

I'm announcing it here first for a special reason. Back in 2001, I had posted my first program Stump Maker to the Bryce free stuff  at Renderosity. Someone from the Vue forum saw it,  mentioned it here and soon several people were using it and posting images showing  the multitude of different shapes they could make. This really opened my eyes to the possibilities!  What I conceived of as a simple stump maker had a lot of hidden capability. With blinders removed, I proceeded to take advantage of that capability in Shape Maker and then Shape Magic. Thanks to those long ago Vue friends who got me started by their creativity, you're the first to know. Enjoy!

Funny, I just looked at some of my old Bryce renders and saw that I used some software called Shapemaker. Now I'll go and have a look, thanks!

glad to make them available, otherwise they just gather dust on my hard drive :)

You did yourself a favor.  Dust can kill a hard drive.

Anyway, thanks a lot.  I have kept meaning to start using Shape Magic again, and now I have a nice reminder.

Attached Link: Road Maker Online Help

For those who use Windows 7, the Road Maker help file will not open. I've converted it into html and have it posted to my website. Follow the link to find it. Sorry no Vue import instructions as I'm not very knowledegable about it.
