Thanks, Thalek. It's the Posh Dress for Vicki, which was made a long time ago, doesn't work very well, and looks better from the back than it does from the front. If you still want it, by all means visit the link. :)

I ought to make a Posh Dress for Antonia some time. I made them for Posette, Vicki, and V3 so it's become something of a tradition. V4 missed out, though. The hemline has got longer with each successive version, so I suppose the Antonia one should be ankle length. :D

Frankly, it would be an indifferently made piece of clothing that had been through Wardrobe Wizard - which, although it works very well, can never make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Every Posh Dress so far has been a new mesh, hopefully including what I'd learned since the previous one, and Antonia deserves nothing less.

can some one show me the antonia body shapes or morphs types and how well dose wardrobe wizard convert v4 cloths to work with antonia.

The modle sure dose move much better than v4.

finally what about using the face in facegen customizer?

From what I've read, the Facegen Customizer specializes in custom-made meshes.  However, I can't afford any of that software suite, so I cannot verify my guesses.

I wish I could, though, because Facegen is much better at putting real faces on the mesh than Face Shop is.

I have seen a tutorial for modifying the facegen mesh to work on v4 or m4 head using customizer I think you can get a demo facegen to see how you like it.

how do the morphs work on Antonia any pics available?

I found this image I made some time ago. If memory serves me correctly, they are some of the morphs from the "Antonia-1_2_FBMs_by_patorak3D" set, available from Antonia's Free site.  

P.S.

The amputation was done to give a better view of th body.

That reminds me: it would be really nice to have a list of "essential add-ons" for Antonia (with download links) to put on the home page and/or the Wiki. There's a lot of stuff that people created and made available over time, but it's a bit scattered. With Antonia not being exactly a "batteries included" product, I think providing an easy way for newbies to find the most useful bits of content could be immensely useful.

So if someone could fire this up on the Wiki and maybe a few people could add to it, that would be great. I think that at the moment the Free Site is the best address, but there's also some really good stuff of other sites that's easily missed.

One essential add-on, not to be missed, is the MDP Bikini, not much of it, but a really excellent piece of work! 🤤

I have added it to the wiki. You will find the bikini near the bottom of the linked page. There is also an FBM.

It  is sure hard lately to get any 3d work done. If it isn't storms with threat of tornadoes, it's jumping every 20 or 30 minutes to do something for Mom or to cook, clean or try to find one house for rent in this county!

I have to get my daughter out of that stinking city before something bad happens. My 9 year old grand-daughter was almost kid-napped from school last week.

Please bear with me while I try to get things under some kind of order so I can do some 3d work. :-(

A morph for Antonia I am working on. For now only the face. Done in Silo with some reference pictures.

My plan is to create a FBM, but mind you I have never done this before. Might take a while. Already ran into a few problems, you guys might shed a light on how to solve.

I enlarged and moved the eyes and eye socket deeper into the skull, but now the eyes sideway rotation is a bit off. Any ideas/solutions?

I am getting a stretch mark/line on one side of the neck. Can I fix that with the texture, and what if someone loads another texture with this character?

In general it was not hard to create the morph except for the jawline / chin area. Especially because the person in the reference picture has a really strong jawline.

Anyway, let me know what you think.....

I'm not sure it's the same thing you're describing in the above quote, but it looks like the edge of the head, where it welds to the neck, may have been moved in places.  You can get rendering or display artifacts when the child (head) weld vertices have been pulled away from the parent (neck).  This can often be fixed by using the 'Smooth'  feature of Poser's Morph Brush at a low setting.  (Or with some similar tool or process.)  That might remove the stretch mark you're seeing.  (Note that if this is the problem, altering the texture won't fix it.)

Did you use morphs to move the eyes? If so that is a big nono! It's OK to use morphs to scale the eyes so long as the scaling happens from the center of rotation, but not OK to move them with morphs. The problem and its solution are discussed in this thread:

What Cage says sounds like a likely cause. Just one small point though, the problem seems to be happening at the boundary between the neck and chest, not the head and neck. Did you morph the neck?

Hi lesbentley,

Thank you for your advise on the eyes. Very resourceful! I will give your method a try.

The stretch mark is only visible on the top image on the left side, and yes I have to repair the neck/head transition at the front. It is just that I stopped there for the moment to try the morph in Poser.

I'll keep working on it and will post it here when I have got something decent.....

With Antonia when the head or neck is yRotated (Twisted) it causes head to point skywards (this also happens with the V4 head, but not the neck). I can see why this joint set up might help to get better bending at the neck joint. However I find it can be very frustrating to have to make big adjustments to zRotate and xRotate every time I use yRotate no the head or neck, and especially if I am just experimenting to see what different head rotations look like.

Another thing with rotations of the head and neck is that they usually need to go together. To get a good looking head rotation you need to put some of the rotation in the head, and some in the neck. Also when a person looks to the side, I think that some of the rotation usually comes from the chest, abdomen, and hip.

I have come up with a pose file that uses ERC to help address these issues. It's not a perfect solution, but I feel it goes a long way towards reducing the amount of dial spinning you need to do when getting Antonia to look in different directions. I have called the pose "TwisterAP", it's based largely on an idea from English Bob.

What does it do? It adds the following four dials to the Body.

"TWISTER"
This dial will twist (yRotate) the head, neck, chest, abdomen, and optionally waist.

"Twister_Chest-Abdo_Inc"
This dial is set to "1" by default, setting it to "0" will exclude the chest and abdomen from the twisting.

"Twister_Waist_Inc"
This dial is set to "0" by default, setting it to "1" will include the waist in the twisting, and also apply a small xTranslation to the waist. You need to set leg IK on before enabling this option.

Like I said, TwisterAP is not a perfect solution. The head is not kept perfectly level at all angles of rotation. Between zero and 45° the head can adopt a very slight upwards tilt, over 45° the head adopts a progressively greater downwards tilt, which can amount to about 4° when Antonia is looking 90° to the side. Never the less, I think this a an improvement on just rotating the head and neck in the normal way which results in a very large upwards tilt. Note that as the file works via valeParm channels in the BODY, the influence of TwisterAP will not be saved in a normal pose file.

In the above animation the figure on your left is the standard Antonia with 36° rotation applied to both the head and neck. The middle figure has approximately the same amount of rotation applied via TwisterAP, but with chest, abdomen, and waist excluded from the twisting. In the figure on your right, the chest and abdomen have been included in the twisting. Two of the figures have props parented to the neck and chest to make it easier to judge the amount of tilt.

If you have managed to make it all the way through my last marathon post, then you have the sort of masochistic streak I am looking for, and thus I have a question for you (yes, ***you***).

Would you like to test the "TwisterAP" before it is unleashed on an unsuspecting public?

What I would like to know is, does it work in your version of Poser, and which version are you using? Does it work in D|S, if so what version? Any problems? Was the readme file easy to understand? Any problems? Any suggestions for improvement?

Please note that the influence of TwisterAP will NOT be saved in a standard pose file. It requires P6 or above.

You will need to loose the ".TXT" extension from the file attached above before you can use the zip.

Ooh!  Another excellent idea, Les!  :woot:

The readme seems quite clear to me, and the pose works fine in Poser 8, with Antonia 1.0 and 1.2.  Presumably with 1.0 the IK-on options are not functional, but the rest works nicely.

Kind of a bummer that the result can't be saved in a pose, but that's not a real problem.  I don't know how the process could be rearranged to allow pose-saving.

Ahhh, my issues about a house for my daughter are resolved. she will be able to move down here within a week or two...yay.

And i have a doctors appointment this week and will get some pain meds for my arthritis.

Now I can get back to work on my 3d stuff and make Antonia some new, fabulous skins!

Well I know that Poser Python can write a pose file for rotation channels. If a script could read the influence of the ERC and add that to any influence the channel might already be receiving form its dial, and write that out as "k" values in a pose file??? But that's more your territory. Such a script, if it is possible, might be useful in other ways too.

On the question about the morph "Anyway, let me know what you think". In general I like it, but think that perhaps you have gone a little too far in what you have done with the eyes, in particular I think the crease under the lower eyelids would benefit from being smoothed out a bit. Of course that's just my taste, and it depends on what you are going for. The eye sockets certainly seem to be within the range of what one might find in a real human, but quite a bit closer to the edge of that range than to the center.

Yeah, I think you are right. Looking at the reference 'in profile' picture again a do notice her head is turned very slightly towards the camera.
It is hard to find good reference pictures from the side of the head.

The bottom eyelid crease might have to come slightly forwards, but I do like the rounded feel of it.

It's a work in progress and it is my first head morph done outside of Poser anyway. I have plenty of experience with creating dynamic clothes in Silo, but morphing a character, especially across seams is a bit of a challenge for me.

I don't know much about modelling, but I know that if you can keep the groups intact through an import and export from your modelling app, you can morph the full body obj, then use "Pozers little Helper" (PLH) to make INJ and REM files from the full obj. That way you don't need worry about seams. PLH needs a bit of setting up the first time you use it, and has a bit of a learning curve. It's not the most intuitive app to come to grips with, but once you understand how it works, it's quick and easy enough to use, and it's free.

Photo references of an actual silver coated model was used to do this one. :)

He hasn't commented on this, but the license leaves open the possibility for anyone to create a Genesis-compatible figure derived from Antonia.  Or any other type of derivative figure.  IIRC, odf has stated that Antonia has been given to all of us, as his gift.  He retains the right to determine what is or isn't included in the base distribution.  He's given us a great deal of freedom, beyond that.

Does the new D|S actually allow people to develop their own compatible figures?  😕
