Subject: Poser and Daz files Question.

Hello Folks.

I am slowly learning Poser 8 and I have a few questions to ask.

If I download a character from the Daz web site, can that character be used

in Poser 8? I ask because I was brousing there and I noticed there is no option to download files for Poser OR Daz. Does this mean the same file downloaded can be used for Poser?

Also... I have made a few simple renders of faces, and then saved them. They are saved in the Poser file format I think and called "PoserContent." When I open them they always open in Poser8... which is fine, but I am unable to see the whole pic in that small Poser image window. What can I do to see the whole image? Can I convert it to a JPEG for the purpose of viewing the whole thing... and how?

Thanks for any help.

Yes, current DAZ characters can be installed into P8 without any problems.  Now about the renders, you have left out very important details about how you actually saved them within Poser.  Were they saved to the library?  Were they saved as scenes?  Yes, you can save renders as JPEG's, however, the procedure is known as exporting to an image file format.

I actually saved them to a new file on my hard drive.

Sounds like a did something wrong...

If you used the File , Save as from the menu then you saved the scene as a pz3.

That allows you to reload the scene , and recreate or alter the scene for a new render.

Use File, Export, Image to save the render, and dont forget to render it first ;)

Should I have saved it to my poser library?

No.  The library is exclusively for saving newly modified figures, props, poses, and textures for reuse in other scenes.  That would explain why you have small icons; those are actually loading links for your newly created characters.
