May i appologise in advance for the inconvenience this post may cause, this project was to small for the jobs section i felt... mainly because it is impossible for me to be able to pay anyone unfortunately!

I am a budding technology journalist and as you can tell by my name; i am already getting to it. I am preparing my initial wave of unboxing and review videos for my new youtube and blog based tech feed: Tekapeel. (All rights to my saintly mother for the name there god bless her!). The only thing between the posting of my content is the lack of openeing animation. I have my vision! If anyone would please help me i would be eternally grateful and i will give you full credit for you're work.

Thanks guys! Email me at john.mackey@gmx.com if you're interested!

Thanks so much for replying! I was reading about the tough times zippy's having and everyone seems very supportive :) I'm looking for a 3d animator, it'll most likely end up being less than ten seconds if thats a help :)

ThunderStone ( ) posted Sat, 04 June 2011 at 7:41 AM

Like what Jani said, you need to give out more info than what you are posting in here. Doesn't matter if it's free or not, more information is needed before we decide if it's a legimate project or bogus. The info needed is the subject matter. 10 sec, means it will take a lot longer than 1 min ( 40 days in some cases, more in others).  Capsice?

Im sorry if im not grasping it! I didnt mean to offend, sorry. What do you require info wise? I thought that uploading images to anotate my ideas would be abit tiresome? But in regards to the actual animation; it will be played prior to all the videos i happen to make regarding technology and the like. As for a general outline:

[open]

Orange tree blowing in breeze, ruffly 1-1.5 seconds of this.

Solitary orange falls of branch and rolls slightly to the right

(zommed in on said orange) peels or 'unravels' to reveal the logo.

(the following images do NOT belong to me bar the logo, with thanks to bryan tonorio for the tree image)

Why don't you try posting your want ad in animation forum? That's the best possible place I would think of now for you to try your luck in getting someone to respond favorably to your request. Or failing that try posting in the Job/Work forum here at Renderosity, briefly explaining that you don't have money but are willing to barter something in exchange for the services provided.

I have already tried the animation forum, no luck there. The issue with posting an ad for a paid job that in reality is not will (i feel) just be an annoyance. Not that everyone requires money per se, but it will be an immediate let down for hopeful animators that i cant sattisfy currency-wise. Shall i take my buisness elsewhere then? Sorry about all the confusion.

Not quite sure you posted there. I viewed the forum and not one single post from you requesting an aminator or assistance. As a matter of fact,  I don't think I've even seen your handle over there except in here.

If you wish to take your business elesewhere, be my guest. No one is going to stop you. And oh no confusion. We just like people to be honest and not try to pull fast ones on suckers like us. We'll help with tips and tricks of the trade if you're interested in learning animation or 3D art but one thing we will not do is make art or animations for free for someone to palm it off as their own. It has been known to happen. But like I said, if you wish to take your business elsewhere, you can... No one is going to stop you.

Hope this clears up the confusion here.

Chances are im under a different username! The name 'tekapeel' is a very recent creation and that board gets filled up constantly. When i asked ''should i take my buisness elsewhere?'' I was asking exactly that! Not ''do you want to try and stop me taking my buisness elsewhere''. Also, i believe i stated ''FULL credit will be given''. Im not quite sure why the snapping was warrented, i apologize greatly if i have in some way offended anyone in my quest for an aminator. Its apparent im just proving a hinderence to all, good day.

Everyone just breathe ;)

Tekapeel, you might try posting over at the animation forum, or even the jobs forum as was suggested. Not everyone requires money for doing a job as you stated..but would gladly accept other things in return...such as models, textures etc...

Figure out what you could offer in return and go to the jobs forum and see what happens. If you have nothing to offer in barter,  then try the animation forum.

When did you try posting there?

perhaps jumpy could transfer this thread to animation forum to see what happens, as they have done freebies in the past.  I can't do it, but it would be more entertaining to have some kind of animation of a dopey guy (like the one to the left of this msg) trying to figure out how to use his DVD player, surrounded by piles of dvd cases.  the scenario would be basically him clicking his remote whilst the blue-screen telly cycles thru the "no dvd" or "no media detected" warning.  it would be a commentary on how most dvds nowadays are unwatchable IMVHO.  like the "predators" dvd I just viddied -  very gross, they didn't even have any real tough guys or pretty girls or nothing, none of it made sense from einsteinian physics, and the plot was apparently computer-generated.

tekapeel ( ) posted Mon, 06 June 2011 at 3:28 PM

jumpy im terribly sorry! I thought you were refering to animation foroums .net! http://www.animationforum.net/ If you could move this thread to said section i would be incredibly grateful. Exellent idea for a help line Nancy :P Are you a red dwarf viewer by any chance?

Miss Nancy ( ) posted Mon, 06 June 2011 at 8:29 PM

yes, I've watched red dwarf on DVD - that way it's possible to spin up to 32X during the boring parts (kochansky).

Hmmm. Lots of comunication problems :o(

It seems to me  that Tek stated that he's got the tree image, and his logo.

So now we need an orange and time and perhaps Teks offer to barter something :o)
