Subject: .MAX to .BLEND?

SEspider ( ) posted Mon, 13 June 2011 at 10:03 PM · edited Thu, 28 November 2024 at 4:20 PM

Does anyone know of any programs that covert .max files to .blend?

Or any programs that will open a .max file and export the model/textures to .3DS or.OBJ?

Thanks in advance

The only program that can open a .max file I believe is 3DStudioMax. It's the native format for that program.

it is MAx native format, there are some commercial conversion tools you can grab as well as max.

GMax used to be able to convert don't know whether it still can (or it may be only older versions of .max files - http://www.turbosquid.com/gmax

otherwise grab a trial copy of max, convert while it is live.

Toolset: Blender, GIMP, Indigo Render, LuxRender, TopMod, Knotplot, Ivy Gen, Plant Studio.

Thanks.
Sadly, when I try to get the Trail it's download time (via site bar) keeps changing for some reason. At one point it stopped completely and never opened the program.

There are tons of free models online but they tend to be in .max format :(

I'll look into Gmax

Okay. Gmax sees the model and shows it in it's preview when I select it. But ti refuses to open it and only gives a error message. :(
