Subject: Photography Forum Challenge - June 2011 - "BLUE"

Congratulations just more amazing Blue captures. God Bless.

I really like all the entries so far! My first entry is a moon shot like Christo's but the original shot did not include the gull, I added that for balance.

My second shot is a jet flying high overhead. I did manage to get both the jet and the moon in an earlier shot but they were not close enough together.

And my last shot is two swallows cavorting with their aerial acrobatics. I find them almost impossible for me to capture, but an opportunity arises when they do this because they stay fairly close together. This is the best swallow shot I've managed to get, after many hundreds of attempts.

So very beautiful blue ones shining around here ;-).

You all did a good job!

I will give it a try too.

Here it seems like the big crane, the other lifts.
But that is not the case.
The cranes are both blue, in case you did not see it, LOL.

BTW. Last month, I had special pictures for the topic, but not placed.
The months went by too quick. ;-)

WOW!!! Bernie!
Great pictures.
Stunning this egg.

A wonderful blue depth, Tara!!!
And a great blue view on it ;-)

I'm having the worst time posting to this thread! First I couldn't access the text box, then I couldn't keep the image from disappearing out of the "browse" link. I finally had to post the image on its own (which I've never been able to do before ... they always make you say something) because the two together weren't happening!

Anyway ... that aside ...

This is Deception Pass, and the photograph was taken last Thursday specifically for this challenge. :D

This is a piece of spectrolite, angled to show the iridescence of the stone.  This brilliant sort of color play is caller labradorescence and is more peculiar to stones from Finland and sometimes Norway than from Labrador.  Stones of the feldspar material called labradorite vary in intensity and range of colors shown with spectrolite generally the most striking.

This first "blue" entry is a last ditch effort after looking all around my area when out and about for a few days..no worthy blue to be seen but a few water line caps.

This stone is rough with a polished face, generally on a shelf gathering dust.

The blue paint on the rowboat has seen it's brighter days, as has the shed where tools and toys are kept behind a sturdy lock. But the swing is new and the bushes are trimmed. Someone still cares about this place.

I am feeling blue...  cold and slow on this month's challenge!

Maybe a hot bath and hand-made soap will do the trick?

Taken on the way home at an intersection tonight - a police car with it's lights on and the blue reflective stripe in my headlights.  I was stationary!

This is great fun!
