Subject: how can i export layers

i have a file which has no background anymore i cleared the background because i wanna composite this image in my final cut pro project i exported it as a .tiff  file problem is when i load it in final cut the white background shows i dont want it to show. how can i do that?

Export it in .png format to keep transparency

@Lionhead, did this resolve your issue? 

i'd go with the PNG method if the image quality is sustained, if not, you can still export a TIFF with an "alpha channel" if need be...
