hello everyone :) i know there's been whale models offered for free, and it got me thinking about making some of my own. this is a start to one of them. i was also thinking about making a humpback, and a right whale. i thought about making a beluga, blue whale and an orca but i know those are already available at other sites. what i kinda was wondering is would i be stepping on anyones toes if i made these and put them up in the freestuff. i'm not aware of anyone selling whale models (besides zygote and other big companies) and i'd hate to upset anyone. thanks :)

Yep. I like the big sperm whale :) We can have a whole series of Moby Dick renders. From a selfish standpoint, I'd like other whales as well, and maybe some of the other dolphin species. How much work is Poser setup with something using fewer body parts? My one attempt at poserizing a model was with an alligator I bought from somewhere, and I gave up in frustration. GrayMare

I still haven't done an under water scene but do have plans to (actually started one already) and your Humpback is looooking goood! I like it. (there is a good baluga already however, but not all whales look a like ;-) A Sperm, Piolet, and Blue would also be great....heck Whales are great!

thanks everyone :) GreyMare... i was thinking about doing a few dolphins...but i can't decide on which ones. i was thinking about a hourglass dolphin cuz there're so cute ;) (but not well known). do u or anyone else have any other sugestions?? they won't be all ready at once, but i can have a few WIP's going. lol and about the poser set up GreyMare, i have poser pro pack... and i'm just learning as i go really. people say the pro pack makes poserizing things alot easier then just Poser 4. if it wasn't for the people who took time out to make tutuorials i wouldn't even have a clue on making thigs posable... a good tutorial that i just downloaded is at http://www.sams3d.com/ and there's another one here at Renderosity by ClintH http://webpages.charter.net/chawkins2/ hope this helps u :) and thanks again everyone for the encouraging words!
