Subject: Post images or not?

I'm having a real dilemma here. After reading what has transpired over the last few days, I can't decide if I should continue posting images here or not. I don't think any of my images are in any way crude, but some sick minds might disagree. I really love the Renderosity community, and posting and having constructive criticism given, has helped me alot with my work. I guess what I'm asking is, what are the guidelines? They seemed to have changed since I first joined the community. Also, are we allowed to post fairy images or has that become taboo (as comical as that might sound)?

My idea of rebooting is kicking somebody in the butt twice!

I posted fairy work and no one said a thing. (they were my first fairies ever...) There hasn't been an official notice of any changes yet, so frankly until there is, I'm not gonna worry about it...

Rockets, I so enjoy your work. Please keep posting. I would think, that if there was a policy change on gallery images, news of it would filter down to the community in one way, or another. ;) Pop...pop...pop!!

It is your art, do what you think you need to do. If you you do nothing, thats what will happen. If you risk, you may find it worth it, but you will never know if you don't try.If you choose to be silenced by others, that is your choice. I trust you are stronger than that.

One person's food is another's poison; thus One person's poison is another person's food. If you feel it is art, so will someone else, as will someone think it's trash. As long as one follows a web site's guide lines (and Renderosity does have guide lines on the page you upload on) then please post. I don't usually do "nudes" but did post a couple and got mostly good comments, one was even of an "adult" dwarf but I read the gallery's rules and labled the thumb and covered the nudity and there was no 'touching....yatta, yatta'. It was just a funny pic. All art is in the eye of the beholder and there will be critics and few are of the 'constructive' type. If we all listend to critics then we would all still be living on a Flat Planet and driving cars with Square Wheels and reading by Candle Light. Post your images, just mind the particular websites rules and regulations, let the critics rant. If they don't like what they see then let them move on, there are plenty of nursury rhym books at their libraries (but then, are 'they' under attack too????)

Rockets - the bible itself contains some of the most abhorrent tales of incest (Noah and his daughters), sodomy (Lot's neighbors wanting to gang-rape his angelic guests - and Lot offering them his virgin daughters as a substitute!!!) and mass-murdering children (42 boys torn to bits by bears because they made fun of one of God's prophets). It also contains some of the most explicit and beautiful erotic poetry (Song of Songs) found anywhere in literature. AFAIK none of the self-appointed guardians of our fragile souls have ever suggested that the bible be censored or outlawed. But might yet come to that, of course...! Keep posting YOUR imagery, at least until the zealots start loading their shotguns for you. Wouldn't want to lose an artist to a bunch of thugs masquerading as guardian angels ;-)

Rocket, I posted something on the issue of Guidelines under the heading "Instead of fighting amongst ourselves.." Please feel free to have a look and hopefully contribute something. I am working on a Cherub image at this moment. I'll post it later for the scrutiny of more experienced artists than I. Isaac

Don't worry about it. Yes, there are some troublemakers roaming the forums lately, but if the Watchdogs come kicking down the doors it won't be because of fairies. Vagina morphs and anus props, maybe. But I don't think the "important" people are going to make a campaign based on hunting down fairies. What next, banning unicorns for being a phallic symbol?

You say that, and I hope you're right but if the ranting and raving going on in Complaints Forum is indicative of the mentality of the US Justice Department, then I wouldn't want to bet my freedom on it!! Anyway, this is an image I'm working on at the moment. It's called "Hoping for Justice". The little darling doesn't seem very hopeful. Thornes Fluted Column seems strangely appropriate. This is a straight rendering from Poser, no post work yet. I know I've got some work to do on the joint artifacts and the hair but are there any other suggestions before I spend a lot of time working on the image? Isaac

Hmmm, I take it you like taking flack from the people who hold up the bible as the worlds greatest work of nonfiction. Looks like she's got a club foot to me, and that's just asking to be moderated out of existence :) later jb
