Subject: Clearing out PowerLoader or related crap

JQP ( ) posted Thu, 07 July 2011 at 6:08 PM · edited Sat, 11 January 2025 at 3:50 AM

One DAZ file or another screwed something up so that I couldn't inject A4 or SF4 any more.  I moved the old D|S folder and reinstalled D|S so I don't think it's a problem with D|S.  I moved the !DAZ folder from libraries and reinstalled ALL my M4 and V4 stuff to a clean runtime and everything was working fine.  So I know it's not a corrupt or broken install file.  But when I reinstalled all my main V4 content to where I like it (I keep V4 and her stuff in a separate runtime) I got the exact same problem, so there has to be something outside the libraries/!DAZ folder causing the problem.

On second thought, it might be D|S actually.  Even though I deleted the install directory and installed a new copy, the PowerLoader stuff kicking in when I load V4.2.  I thought it might be the DAZscript files in the DAZ People folder but I deleted them and I'm still getting this crap.

I want PowerLoader out of my life altogether.  I hate PowerLoader.  How do I completely uninstall this nightmare?  How do I track down all the DAZ crap related to it?  Is there a file list somewhere?

The readme for the product should have a link to a filelist that gives every file that the product loads on installation.  I dunno if you can identify powerloader from that , I cant say I notice it in Poser 7 since I just load the figure from the figures library.

Powerloader is a Daz Studio script and doesn't work in Poser. The wiki page might help to fix things

Find the folder with your V4/M4/K4 cr2's, in it you will see a number of DS scripts, these are the powerloader scripts for each gen 4 cr2, if you don't want powerloader then just delete them.

This might fix your problem, but then again it might not, the EXP system DAZ uses with the gen 4's is touchy, check your drives and make sure you only have 1 each of "!DAZ/Victoria 4","!DAZ/Michael 4" & "!DAZ/The Kids 4", more than one and they interfere with each other.
