just noticed an image of a 3d space fighter model.

Where did you find the image? Maybe ask the site owner?

I dont recognise it but there are a lot of sci-fi sites and even Stinemason had a magazine cover with a custom spaceship on it.

 

Knowing where the image came from might give some things to try
