Fran, thanks very much for your efforts. As a consumer though I would be more confident
if Daz were to work on all of the bugs instead of some of the bugs. Perhaps in the future
they will devote the effort to producing a quality core product instead of rushing a
defective product out the door "in record time" and trying to call it "Professional" by adding
bells and whistles. Reputations are made on quality; bankruptcies are made on
junk.
rstar, If I still drank, I would deffinately raise a glass to that one!
Aww heck, why not, (he says raising his diet Sunkist in the air).
And yes Fran, good ones, Thanks.

Well, I think a great feature that put Bryce in the top of the landscape programs would be a good ocean simulator as the new Blender one, atmospherics simulatos, like rain, snow ...
I see version after version improvements about render,... but very few improvements about the main thing, the nature creation.
This from DAZ management:
My apologies for not posting in this thread earlier. We here at DAZ 3D have been very busy working on some big projects. One of which is the DAZ Studio 4 Advanced and Pro launch. It has taken all of our developers, even the team working on Bryce to wrap up the last details. No excuses are good enough however.
I have been in discussion with our CTO, and he is committed to getting an upgrade for Bryce to run under the Lion operating system release. This should be good news for everyone. The only thing I don't know is how long it will take to update or develop. One of the developers said it should not be a huge effort, but until he dives into it it's not completely known.
I hope this helps, and I'm very sorry for the delay in responding to each of you. Perhaps in sorting this out they will also work on many of the outstanding bugs, or, perhaps some of the bugs will sort themselves out... Time will tell.
And, of couse, Mac owners worried about running Bryce in Lion can always use a PC emulator.
Heres my 2 cents, why don't they fix what should have been their primary goal to begin with; the resource/stability issue. Forget everything else, without these basic issues being address it does not matter what else they add, it will still just end up crashing and we the customer just pulling our hair out becasue of all these memories leaks.
It would be wonderful to be able to loads older files from earlier versions of Bryce into Bryce 7 PRO without getting an out of memory error!

To all Brycers, it seems that there is some movement on some of the bugs and feature requests over at Daz3d's Bug Tracker Area, and I've heard that one of the criteriors Daz will go by when considering which features to implement, is how many people ask for it, so if you agree with the requests below, could you add a note to the list at each report stating either that you agree or adding something to the case.
The first one, asking for an easier to see Origin Handle is here:
https://bugs.daz3d.com/view.php?id=42848
If you agree please say so. You can also request a feature or report a bug yourself if you wish - just remember that your normal username and password for the DazForums (if you have one) will not work in the Mantis Bug Tracker area - you need one just for there, but that's simple to do.
Actually while you're there (If you have the time) you could just take a look around and see if you agree with any of the other feature requests...
Like I asked for an X,Y,Z axis to be placed in the wireframe viewport - Bryce being one of the few 3D programs that uses the x,y,z axes but doesn't have an Axis showing where things are pointing - which I find a particular pain!
That one's here:
https://bugs.daz3d.com/view.php?id=34745
And here's one for a scroll bar in the Materials and Objects libraries:
https://bugs.daz3d.com/view.php?id=34691#c79470
Although if you ask me I think we need scroll bars everywhere - as I saw someone just today who had animated something and couldn't select NONE from the list of parented meshes, because there was no scroll bar - nor any other way to move up or down the list. Now that's a real bummer!
And then there's this one about having a favourites button in the Bryce Libraries:
https://bugs.daz3d.com/view.php?id=34692
and this one about grouping instances:
https://bugs.daz3d.com/view.php?id=34697
and this one about a centre point for positioning instances:
https://bugs.daz3d.com/view.php?id=34741
and one here:
https://bugs.daz3d.com/view.php?id=34740
asking for more function for the Camera View - and for more cameras too,
And for even more control over cameras, this one:
https://bugs.daz3d.com/view.php?id=34726
I just mention these because we just recently got emails about our feature requests being reassigned, (and those above were mine) so there is movement on these things, I just don't know how much.
