Mark, I am glad you came in.  The contrast you did changes the character of the image in a pleasing way.  Posts can be anything using the original as the base, whether silly or serious. I remember once in a while a DITI would be a photo needing help to make it look the best and that would be the request of the poster, for a serious try at bringing out the most good from the photo.  That is fine, too.   Most are more for goofiness, however.  I often pick up and idea or two from the entries of other members since postwork comes from many different dirrections.

Thanks so much Tom. I much appreciate your spirit. I'm maybe 18 months into photography (coming from 2D) so it's been a thrill to enter this gallery & its openness, acceptance, and the great creativity of its members. (I also have so many photographers to discover here---incl you, having just looked at your wonderful gallery.) It's so nice to see DITI back after a while.

One more from me as I'll be gone for a week. With a litttttttle more filtering. I love what's here, and I wish everyone a good new month! Take care, Mark

Nice work, Mark!  I particularly like the second one, because what you've done has brought out the vegetation on the wall.  We've all either minimized it or taken it out completely.  (Heck ... Bill actually postworked it out on purpose in order to "clean up" the wall!)  LOL!   It's great to see your b&w contrast studies.  Nicely done!   (And it's great to see you back here in the Forums, my friend.)  :D

Bill, I got exhausted just reading your steps!!!! LOL  But what a great outcome.

And anahata.c, I love the ruddiness you brought into it. Well done!

I'm thinking DITI might make it for a once a week regular!  Yeah says I     3¢ worth.

Quote - Totally unexpected, the HDR merge discriminated against cats and mechanical beasites. And, it kept a parade man but the man waiting for a ride is gone and only a cat ghost remains in the foreground.  How two Hippie VW vans got in there I don't know.

Anyway, there you go.      Tom.

Humm...maybe I should market the technique as "Dali Meets Warhol Effect" : )

Tom, I forgot to mention..... That was a Stealth beastie.... Can't explain the cats or VWs, though... probably some kind of interdimensional wormhole or something.

Makes sense with the beastie...and who knows how many VW's a hippie might see at once, depending on current state of mind.   Cats might be using powers of some sort.

You guys let me know when we want to put up a new DITI image.  I can do one in the morning or we can hang on and wait until next Monday.  :-)

A New Twist

TomDart ( ) posted Tue, 02 August 2011 at 7:48 AM

PJ, I believe this one has done ok to get the idea back up and running and a new one will be appropriate.   You might want to put in some "rules" for new players, like first responder with a diti starts the next one and when,  so many(?) images per person and how to play.

This one showed all you really need is a "canvas" for other folks to use.  My image was simple but worked fine for a diti.  No super shot is needed and everyone is encouraged to join in!
That is if from TomDart.  ( I might get one more in before the day is over..hee hee)

I'll see what I can find. Mighth have to wait until I get home from work though. We'll see. :-)  And, Tom, great idea for things to include.

gonzojr, the twist is neat.  : )

I want to thank each of you for joining in.  Bringing up DITI again was taking a chance but the response has been great.  Thanks to all!  I always gain some things fro seeing what others have done.   Now there is the new one up.  See you there.

Thanks again.  Tom.
