Subject: 'Preparing Mesh body' stall

Diaxus2 ( ) posted Wed, 03 August 2011 at 3:15 AM · edited Sun, 24 November 2024 at 12:23 AM

hi all,

im having probs with vue xstream 9 and vue7 xstream loading any animations from other programs.

this is a strange problem as it has worked for the last few weeks doing exatly what i want untill a few days ago.. im doing everything i have normaly done but it now stalls where it say preparing mesh body in the bottom left corner.

my normal work flow is to load poser pz3 into vue7 then save the file as a vue file to work in vue 9 as ive had probs loading poser anim files straight to vue9 (doing everything ive read about the sdk issue even though still pz3s load straight into vue9 with out problem)

ive tryed exporting anims as avi and stills in all codecs i can but it wont even get pass this prep body process.

Ive re saved all prop objects as obj files in the poser pz3 to make sure theres no nasty 3ds files hidden there aswell.

i klnow my machines capable of running large file size anims as ive done so for a year before this probb.

any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks

Not sure I understand: you want to import a poser animated character into Vue, or you want to import a movie (avi) as a background? There is no "body" preparation time when loading a movie...

Vue 7 and Vue 9 treat Poser differently.  Which Poser do you have?  And do you have Poser set to its defaults?

its any animated poser charecter pz3 that wont get past this prep body process, im using the same poser 8 that ive done other vue projects with for while now, with out problem untill a few days ago.

im running win7hp 64bit on a intell2 quad Q8200 2.33ghz with 6G mem that has beeen fine for a couple of years (yep i would like more mem but its not an option at mo).

Importing or rendering the animation causes problems?

rendering is the prob. it stalls before the first frame of rendering.

i left it running last night to see if its a time issue, but after 10 hours it was still 'preparing mesh body' and the bar had stalled with no change from its start.

And if you import just one frame of the animation and render just a single shot of that does it do the same thing?  Or does it render fine?

a single frame from a pz3 renders fine

What does your import settings look like?  If you import the entire animation and choose any frame to render, does it also render just fine?  Is there dynamic cloth in the PZ3?

ive just un checked the ' group figures as single meshes' and it started to load up the single mesh objects, but then stalled again after about half way (' prep mesh chest' this time ).

ive tryed many combinations of checking and unchecking boxes but all get trghe same results.

so the prob is the mesh prep when animating?

its renders each pic fine as a single render (but not as any anim. avi, bmp, or jpg. lol i dont fancy hand rendering 350ish files with single renders).

theres no dynamic cloth or hair, just the normal figures (M3 with fixed mesh props attached).

i think i may check the meshes to see if any have rats nests in when exported out in obj.

then i may batch them together in a rar and upload them aswell.

but i cant see the mesh being a prob as it stalls on rendering any imported animated object. but its the same4 in vue 7 and vue 9?

Ive track the problem and found a solution to the stall.

seems if i turn off "auto baking on anim" in the edit mesh box, everything renders fine again
