martial ( ) posted Tue, 09 August 2011 at 5:37 AM · edited Fri, 29 November 2024 at 6:37 PM

Bonjour

I am using Vue infinite 9,5 last version (9505387_Release_3234) on a Windows 7 64 bits system with 8 gigs ram All my vue stuff are in
E:Vue 9,5 infinite
(plants,materials, etc....)

Today during a render Vue crashs around 4 % of rendering( big scene of forest) and freeze my system
I have rebooted and try toload again Vue.It ask me my serial number and after new activation code (ouf this serie of letters)

Ok my Vue finally load and i create a test terrain
When i try to create plants from plants species Vue was unable to locvate it ,searching in C:UsersMartialDocumentsVue 9,5 infinite,,, etc and don't find because my plants folder is inside E:Vue 9,5 infinite

After manually locate some plants i decide to remove all my plants collections and reconstruct them by locating each in E:Vue 9,5 infinitePlants etc

But Vue persiste to try locate it in in C:UsersMartialDocumentsVue 9,5 infinite,,, etc Just before crash ,everything was good and vue locate correctly my collection

But all others collection seems ok : example materials

Is this a way to correct this ??
Must i to reinstall VUE all again (hope not...)

Thanks

Do you run Vue as Administrator? In the last tab of the Options panel, you can change the content folder.

In Poser when you add content or folders Poser automatically updates to show the new content. If I add new content and reorganize my Vue folders is there a way to get Vue to refresh the content folders to show my reorganization?

Not until you recreate your collections one by one, unless maybe, but haven't tried, you change the location of the content folder in your Options.

Just to be more clear, the problem that I have been having is this. Let's say I have a folder under Atmospheres called Clear Days. Under Clear Days I have two subfolders: Sam's Atmospheres and Bubba's Sunny Days. Now if I add a new subfolder called John's Clear Skies and go into Vue 8 Esprit it does not show under Atmospheres and it asks if I want to locate the folder. I say yes and navigate to the folder on my computer and tell it to add it. Instead of adding it under my Clear Days folder like I have it in my computer, it adds John's Clear Skies as a new folder under Atmospheres which messes up my organization. Is there a way to get Vue to refresh my content folders to show it the way I have it organized on my computer?

Bruno, I didn't see your reply until after my second post. I will take a look tonight to see where I have the content folders in options. Maybe if I change that it will solve the problem. Thanks.

Yeah, it will never drop the collection where you want it if in a sub-folder, always inside the main folder. But once it's added to the Atmospheres, you can simply drag John's clear skys into the Clear Skies folder.

I have Vue 9 complete and have no operations tab under options to change my folders because Vue is doing the same thing to me.  I locate my folders and once I close Vue and come back it completely forgets everyone of them.

The Operations tab is Inf and xStream only. I don't know how to fix your problem, Cie.
