Right. Now let's look at this. Fact:Many of us are ticked that darksouls sent out emails to us at addresses we personally didn't authorize the use of. Fact:Many, if not all, of us are able to block future emails from a particular source. It's a common function offered by email providers. Observation:Too much is being made of this at this time. Suggestion: Watch and see if the situation continues. Over 6,000 people boycotting ANYTHING will have an effect.
Exactly my point. People are making way too big a deal of this. I'm sure that darksouls' motives are honourable, as are the intentions of renderosity.com; and equally sure that everyone will make up their own minds about that. Anybody that is uncomfortable with getting any correspondence can block it. I, for one, would no longer wish to be associated with an organization that blatantly disregarded my wishes concerning the distribution of my email address (for profit or not), but I do not believe such is the case here. My previous suggestion still stands...Watch and see.

It appears that the focus of this site has change and become commercial. I am not against someone making money. However, since you are now planning to make money by using our names and email addresses this should be made clear. Some people may not have sign up had they know that they were going to receive commercial emails. I receive emails (newsletters) from different places which some of them have ads. However, I knew this when I signed on with them. This is from the Dark Souls Site. http://www.darksouls.com/advertiserates.htm Newsletter Banner Display: Targeted Advertising displayed in an HTML based newsletter that ships to presently 6,697 members weekly.
