No better deals than $200 and $100 off?

basicwiz ( ) posted Mon, 22 August 2011 at 1:48 PM

Are you a first time buyer or upgrading?

Daymond42 ( ) posted Mon, 22 August 2011 at 2:04 PM

I thought $200 and $100 off was pretty damn good, myself... :)

bagginsbill ( ) posted Mon, 22 August 2011 at 2:06 PM

Are we making up numbers now?

I thought Poser Pro was retail $499, and you get to upgrade for what? Are you claiming $299? It's not $299. What is the preorder upgrade price, please?

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

Please go to that page and tell me again what it says.

I'm still undecided, how long is the upgrade price on for? Can't see it anywhere..

Pre-order prices remain until the day before launch I believe.

Already pre-ordered, it is worth the $150 for the upgrade from pro 2010 to 2012 for SSS alone, let alone all the other goodies.

I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 -  Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB  storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU .   The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.

I'm undecided because I use Vue 9 Infinite to render so currently using Poser 7/8 for scene set up only.

The fact Pro2012 utilizes full 64 bit is swaying me towards it rather than version 9. With 64 bit I may even start using it to render but at $180 I'm still undecided because Vue 10 will prolly be out in October or thereabouts...

The Pre-Order Sale is on until the end of September 19th. Poser 9 and Poser Pro 2012 will be released on September 20th.

I have already bought my voucher, and am impatiently awaiting the target date. :)

You would be if you just purchased a new I Mac 27'  with the highest spec and the and it will not work with Poser 2010 and limps with Poser8!

Lion is not even coping with my older graphics software.

So tonight I am backing up Lion and attempting to load Snow leopard fortunatly I have two hard drives , so might be back on track tommorow.

Steve Cooper has already said that the weightmapping goodies will be in the 2012 sdk that they pass on to E-on.

Upgrading from pro 2010 and poser 8. The page I was sent to from the email I got was where I got the prices. I didn't see anywhere an upgrade for $150 on the pro. No need to be abrasive baggins, just stating the prices for the upgrade I got in the email from Smith Micro.

Marque ( ) posted Mon, 22 August 2011 at 5:26 PM

Seeing $249 and $149 on the page you sent me to. Still a bit steep for someone who has owned every version since ver 1.

Marque ( ) posted Mon, 22 August 2011 at 5:27 PM

Marque, I think those are the regular prices after the introductory period. If you get the upgrade soon, you can save a lot more than that.

The $150 is the pre-order price I'm looking forward too as well, from this page:

http://poser.smithmicro.com/comingsoon/#order

under "Upgrade/Sidegrade pricing"

...and for we're getting this go around, it's an incredible deal. And it's all included in that one price, too... no module-by-module price tack-ons. If you do the maths, it's so worth it.

yes $150 is a LOT better! TY

I wasn't abrasive. I am on vacation and gave you as much time and typing as I felt necessary and no more.

Look elsewhere for mollycoddling.

I'd like my two "pleases" back. Apparently being polite is now called abrasive.

It's true, BB! I sometimes use my politeness as a bathroom sink cleaner. :>

Saying please doesn't make you polite, so please take them back.  8^)

Marque ( ) posted Wed, 24 August 2011 at 8:12 PM

Just curious, why get both, why not just get the pro 2012? Does 9 have something 2012 doesn't have? Because I do plan to get the pro version. Thanks

LaurieA ( ) posted Wed, 24 August 2011 at 8:28 PM

Pro has everything that Poser standard has and a bit more ;). If you're gonna upgrade you only need Pro.

Laurie

Marque ( ) posted Thu, 25 August 2011 at 3:35 AM

That's what I thought thanks!

SteveJax ( ) posted Thu, 25 August 2011 at 3:55 AM · edited Thu, 25 August 2011 at 3:55 AM

The only reason to get 9 if you're already planning on getting Pro is if you want to have two Up to Date versions of Poser running at the same time. You could be doing content creation in Pro and rendering in 9.

Marque ( ) posted Thu, 25 August 2011 at 5:04 AM

This is also true.

wingnut1 ( ) posted Sat, 27 August 2011 at 4:14 PM

I just pre-ordered today, actually about ten minutes ago. Upgrading from Poser 8 to Poser Pro 2012 for $179. I'm happy enough with that deal.
