Well it's 5:15 here, and I've been at it for a while. I've still got some parts to model for the car like miirors, stering wheel and some details. I still have to set up the final scene, and light it correctly, but it's getting there. This is a test render, and I just got done rendering the beast. It's very late or early, I'm tired, I gotta get some sleep. Let me know what you guys think. kaom

It's become ever more cool, each time i see that roadster. Very nice Car.....but i find the body to be a little to much reflectivity on it. Nice Work Kaom. Pleiades

Always making progress -- looking great, Kaom. Nice to see such dedication to a project, too.... - Dex

Very nice!!! Still can't wait to see the final! Excellent attention to detail! Love the reflections in the paint! Jared

Thanks guys, I still have a good amount of work left to do. I'll be adjusting the texture of the paint to get it just right, I know it's reflectivity is pretty intense. And I need to really play with the lighting too. A few more days of work and I think I'll have it where I want it, at least for now. The poly count on this getting out of hand, Carrara was chugging when I was texturing and assembling this baby, there was like a 5 second delay for everything, I hope it hangs in there. Some mirrors and a steering wheel, an exhaust pipe, and some emblems and logos and I'll call it done. Oh yeah and a different material for the floor and background. Probobly one of those nice new materials I got in MBGrooves, minus havign Anyhting Grooves applied, I think that would sink the ship,Ram wise. I'll post the final image when I get it done. Thanks for the encouragement, this has been a real learning project that has lasted too long but it's worth the effort. Thanks, kaom

Hang in there, Kaom. The hours you've put into this are really paying off. The results so far are great. And if I had a car like that, you can bet it would be polished to a mirror finish! Are you going to go for the fat chrome sidepipes, or something more subtle? How about a vanity plate? With a virtual car like that you'll have the poser babes crawling all over you ;) Jim Z. a.k.a. Sidepipes will be probobly be the way to go, gotta look cool, forget the emissions. Yeah I'd be polishing it too, 24 hours a day. I'm actually trying to make vanity plate graphics right now. The problem I'm running into is finding a font that looks like the font on Colorado license plates, or any license plates for that matter. Any clues on where I could find fonts that look like like the letters on license plates? Yeah I think I'll have to take it for a drive through the Poser galleries when I get it done, lotsa babes in there, shouldn't be too hard to get one to go for a ride. Thanks for the encouragement and compliments, it's been a lot more work than I ever thought, but I'm really happy with it so far. I can't wait to start on the next one, maybe the ultimate SUV? Who knows? If anyone knows of license plate fonts on the web somewhere, I'd be grateful. Thanks, kaom

Thanks, rockjockjared! There are some really cool free fonts there. I didnt find what need yet,but I did stumble across this site which might do the trick.

That's a pretty cool site! I'm going to have to bookmark that one for later reference!

This is a really splendid modeling job. The rendering and lighting are good too. Check out this great tutorial by Gary Beale on how to set up lighting for optimal results in RDS. I think it's still applicable to Carrara.
