Mario, I love the image you gave us. From your gallery, I can see how well you do broad sweeping shots with lots of detail inside the shots. These pumps look like the trunks of some primal beasts. Thanks for such a fine image to work with!
Bipolartwo---what wonderful fantasies. I find photomanipulation very difficult. (Had to do it years ago & hated it!) You do it with total ease & fun. Your little family break-up is made of great little beasts, and your "Ark" piece has some wonderful cartoon creatures...love the sheep! Nice transformation of a serious photo.
Tara, given your experience with quilting & clothes-making, your first variation doesn't surprise me as it looks like a huge serving plate, or like the ceiling of a grand opera hall (like one of Lucinda's variations in the last DITI). Wonderful play on Mario's linear theme. And the night scene is very fine & your hues work for me totally. That is, it really looks like a night scene. You always seem to do at least one realistic image in these threads. Fine job.
And Feliciti, you've turned the big pipes into the limbs of some gigantic primordial lobster, lol: wonderful color "trim" (almost neon), and you smoothed-out the sky & water, and brought-out the grasses. Another fine transformation.
Mine is below. I was going for an "etching," but this came out instead. (Maybe an 'old photo'?) I'll see if I can do more later...
A real pleasure. Be well, all. Mark
ps---bipolartwo, just saw your last variation: Very moody and with real clarity. Fine work with the light & flares (or whatever they are). Like Tara's night scene, only with lights. Very nice.
I love what i call the knitting pattern effect wherebye you dont know what the mixed coloured wool pattern will be at the end.
Now i am presented with a terrific image that look's as though it has been been carved from a block of solid pewter.
So here goes with the last for today---Bed time
Equal right's for photographer's because i will be one - one day...................
Good day to you all! I see a glittering start of the week and a beautiful series of works with fantastic solutions:
Bipolartwo
In addition to being the first truly has the heart, technique and creativity in the various interpretations, from images of type irony and fun to vary more complex, of great interest and technical depth.
Auntiek
Very rich and beautiful fantasy of Tara the first and a second more traditional but unique charm, a night of great atmosphere.
Feliciti
Susanne has given a 'most futuristic interpretation, almost a changing landscape fluorescent lighting. Fascinating.

Mark gave a more classic tones using the B & W with pretty nice results.
Thanks to Mark for his beautiful words. A known friend in this forum.

B & W where a version has added elements to the image to achieve his goal. Picture perfectly successful, with a remarkable softness of the tones that give a fascinating picture.
I would add that, my command of the language is pretty poor and I hope that the translation is understandable, congratulations to everyone for the commitment and skill !!!!!

Preview the photos I had chosen for the new week. These are the old ditch on the Bara pumps iirigazione , emissary of Lake Massaciuccoli, the Apuan Alps in the background, behind the hills of Massarosa. Photo taken from the point where the new pumps are located.
