Subject: Firefly render poor quality v preview

Hi. I know there must be an obvious answer to this but stumped if I can find it - can anybody help please ...

 

The picture above is rendered using Firefly and the background is a jpg pasted onto a hires square tilted 90 degrees upright as a backdrop.

The picture is muddy although it is crystal clear in the preview mode. I seem to remember there is a setting on the clothplane paremeters that stops it receiving shadows or something like that. Any ideas please.

Turn "filtering" to "None" in the Materials Room. It's on the image map under the Advanced tab.

  1. For the background Set ambient value to 1 and color to white, difuse value 0 connect the image to ambient color(edit to add) leave image connected to diffues so it shows in preview

  2. set filtering on background to none

Absolutely spot on - Filtering = none worked a treat. Found it exactly as you said.

Now I do hope you will change your lighting.  The shadows on the model contradict the shadows cast in the photo.
