Subject: Core I7 memory issue confused

Hi everyone

I recently switched from rendering with my laptop to my desktop (See my other thread on this) However when comming to render a scene with my I7 it complains it is out of memory straight away when it has got exactly the same the same memory as my laptop and that performs pretty much everything flawlessly (except for its crashes due to a overheating issue).

I really want to sort this out so that i can use my desktop for rendering and use the I7's quad capablities.

Any Idea's before I email smith micro for futher advice (here is the pc spec even though it is in my signature)

use task manager to see how much memory the application (tasks actually) are trying to use.  Check you virtual memory settings as well on the desktop.

And having 3 sticks of ram on your MB is probably keeping it from using it's dual channel capability

So is that TTFN or TANSTAAFL?
