Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 23 9:03 pm)
Pictures too big? You have photoshop? Save for Web? I have never found any image I could not load here, some were 2000 pixels wide. The limit is 200KB and that is easy to stay under.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

I haven't been here in a while, but I haven't been slackin'!
I'm working on several projects and need/request some help on a few issues. Currently on Elsa's Ford. Modeled in RHINO, assembled in Poser 7.
1. If I'm using pieces and parts of old meshes from somewhere I can't remember where they came from and they're rebuit and re-textured, is that a copyright infringement?
How can I get Texture maps for major sections? I've tried UV mapper but it's being extremely difficult. ie. splitting layers and such. Any help would be appreciated.
I've got the making prop stuff down Ok, but I want to make this a figure. Is it better to place all the pieces together or explode them before entering the setup room? (this is where I really have troubles, character /skeleton creation.)
Lastly, as a prop, I had to make a CG (center of Gravity) mesh to keep it from going weird while rotating and such. Whill I have to include that in the figure or no?
Thanks so much for any help.
Tommy
P.S. since I cant get the pictures to show up, they'll be in me gallery.
Yes it is. Please don't do, you will have after more problems than anything else.

It's not way off course. You have 16 posts. I have over 10,000. You want guys like me to answer. You will find guys who post a ton who know a lot about rigging (not me - I know materials), but they won't necessarily waste time chasing your gallery image down. You want to post it here so they don't have to run around to help you. Otherwise, they may just move on.
And I'm wondering how you could learn to put an image in the gallery, but fail to see the thing below the reply box here that says "Attach a File"

Or for that matter linking to the gallery page/image.

It depends on what you intend to do with the reworked mesh, and what terms were specified for the original bits and pieces. (Re)distribution is a non-starter, unless all the original pieces permitted reuse (very unlikely).
Commercial use of any images would also be reckless unless you're sure all the original pieces permitted it.

Ask for help in the -> UV Mapper forum, UVDan (and others) are very helpful to beginners.

Basically you should have all the required polygon groups and materials defined before trying to rig in Poser.
Whether or not the mesh will need to be welded depends on many things.
See drgeep's, PhilC's and others' tutorials for an introduction to all the various things you'll need to tackle.

Sounds like all you really needed to do was adjust the origin.
