Subject: Convert Hair to Conforming Figure?

mathman ( ) posted Sat, 17 September 2011 at 7:38 PM · edited Tue, 10 September 2024 at 9:55 PM

Hi all,

This has probably been asked before, but I could not find it.

I was wondering how you convert a hair prop (.hr2) to a conforming figure (.cr2). I'm sure that there's more to it than merely changing the file extension.

Any help appreciated.

thanks,
Andrew

I think if you use a donor rig you should be able to do it easily enough....just keep all the body parts from the hip up.

Thanks, but I have no idea what you are talking about when you refer to "a donor rig". And even then, its probably likely that I won't just know what to do. I'll probably need a "step by step".

We're talking the setup room... iow, you're doing rigging. Not for the faint of heart. But people do it all the time and with the new Poser and weightmapping, it's going to become more and more common to do. Diogenes (Phantom3D) has an excellent video he's put together on the fundamentals of rigging... he's pretty much the guru of all riggers, so his approach is about as good as it gets.

Try it, you'll like it! 😄

In this thread I explained how to convert hairs from one figure to another.

You must create prop from conforming hairs and add/adjust new bones. In your case half of work is done - go follow steps 4 - 7.
