Hello everyone, hope everything is going well. I wanted to pass on some information about a graphics package I found while surfing around the ole Internet. The package is called Real Draw Pro by Media Chance. Its basically a vector/paint/3d package all rolled into one. What makes it really nice for us Poser types is that it makes texturing so easy it should be illegal ;-) You can load a texture template (such as UVMapper produces) as a "blue print", set the template into onion skin mode and then draw on top of it with standard drawing tools. Once you have the basic shape you can then paint directly onto it, apply textures from the program, or add your own textures. Textures applied through the program are scalable and translatable. You can also add lighting effects, bump maps, embossing, etc to the object. When you are finished you can export as a jpg or a layered photoshop file for further tweaking. Now the best news about the package is its price. I originally downloaded it and started playing with it and was interested, so I did the dreaded thing of looking up the price expecting maybe 150-300 dollars. The price is 50 dollars!!! Hell Daz sells some of there models for more than that! I will say that it does have some shortcomings, but nothing that you can't get around. At first it seems like you cannot add your own textures, but all you have to do is move the files into its texture directory and it picks it up. Also resizing the canvas for templates is a little tricky at first due to the feature being fairly hidden. But all in all I think its worth the 50 dollars. If your interested in the package goto www.mediachance.com. Just wanted to be a good samaritan and pass on the info. Have a good one, J.B. Settle

This is a cool program, I have had it for about 3 months or so, haven't used it for awhile, but is worth the 50!

Haven't tried it yet but sounds like I ought to. Real Draw-Pro 2.2 30 day demo advertised as available at: www.twocows.com/preview/174742.html

Morning (or evening/afternoon depending on where you reading this from), yes I have tried the demo. The nice thing is that its fully functional for 30 days. Also all you have to do is buy the serial number and the program in unlocked. I would definitly say try the demo and see if you like it. I was just caught off guard by it, it seems in this day and age new tools are getting harder to find. I was playing with the texture templates for Mikes morphing armor from Daz last night, and was amazed at how fast you can get it to produce some nice textures for it. Also, since the areas are objects you can easily tweak the textures down the road. For example if you don't like the gold armor, all you have to do is select the area and pick a new texture from the drop down. No repainting or anything like that. Good luck with the program. Thanks J.B. Settle

The link for the demo doesn't seem to be working. Anyone else having any luck?

Humm, how do you load your texture maps to work on them? Thanks for the heads-up! Marque

JBSettle ( ) posted Sat, 25 August 2001 at 10:08 AM

Marque, Go to Project->Blueprint->Load from File menu option. Select your texture map. Uncheck the Resize and Crop box when you select your texture map. Then goto Project->Blueprint->Resize Canvas and the canvas will be resized to the texture map. From there you can begin your texturing. Some nice features are that you can onion skin the blue print by pressing overlay blueprint button at the bottom of the real draw window. Hope this helps, J.B. Settle

Yes that did help but now that I've painted my texture I can't seem to export it for use with my model from Poser. Is there an actual guide for this? Thanks, Marque

OK, pulled in a texture map and painted it but how do I get it saved as a texture map again with my changes intact? When it saves it saves as the grid that I pulled in. Marque

Think I figured it out. Marque
