Subject: Problem with Poses

When I apply a pose, even from the packaged poses for a figure, the arms are "crossed".  I need to change the "Up and Down" wheel to get it to appear right.

Is there a setting (Poser 9) that needs to be set?

Check your IK settings.
Some Poses need IK ON
Other Poses need IK OFF.

I wish they would make ONE standard, ON or OFF, but ......

Also, make certain that the pose matches the character it is intended for.  There is a Universal Pose feature built in for poses you save back into the Poser Library.

I tried it with IK on and off.  I had the same issue in Poser 8.

Like stated before such problems are usually caused by IK being on for the hands or for the feet or that the pose is not for the figure that you are currently using.  You may want to apply the pose with the limit on just to see if that corrects the issue.

The only other thing that I could think that may be causing the problem is that the pose itself is actually messed up. If all of your other poses in the package are working fine then it may be that one pose that's not the correct pose for the the thumbnail being displayed.

To me this sounds like it is most likly caused by by applying a pose that was made for a diffrent figure.

Poses should always be save whilst IK is turned off, but I must admit to having failed to comply to this rule on occasions. :blushing:
